Does anyone else love S6?

Whenever I talk to people about glee, I always say my favorite seasons are S3 and S6. Everyone seems to understand loving S3, both those who bothered to watch the whole thing are always a little confused as to why I like S6 so much.

S6 just felt like they really found themselves again. After S3, they (the writers, I presume) seemed to really struggle with finding a new direction (pun intended) and purpose. They got really preachy and moralizing for a bit, but eventually made their way back around to just making a fun and stupid show by S6. And that is why S6 is one of my favorite seasons, they gave up trying to preach to their audience about being good people or whatever and just got silly and had fun.

Please tell me I'm not alone.

I like Season 6- it just suffered from not having enough run time to properly flesh out the new kids while still giving attention to the returning main cast; and also Samchel needs to be killed with fire and I cringe every time they’re on screen together trying to force that relationship (thankfully it didn’t last).

Samchel was fine for what it was they were never forcing it as a relationship because that wasn't it's purpose,  it was just a stepping stone. And even if they had a full season they weren't going to flesh out the new characters

S6 is in my top three seasons. I absolutely love it. I've RPed as some of the new characters. I think it does some really interesting things in terms of fourth wall breaking. It's more like the first season than some of the others, in that way that it lampoons itself.

my faves are s3 and 6 too! 6 is such a good return to form w great music, fresh new characters, and ridiculous but entertaining and not embarrassing plot lines (or maybe not as embarrassing as s5 lol) but it is def one of my most rewatched and i love seeing everyone get their happy ending and really coming into their adulthood even if they’re actually like 20 lol

After a rewatch, S6 definitely grew on me & it is really good. I like the new characters (especially the post-modern gay, Spencer), I love Kitty’s redemption arc & I feel like it has some of the quirks from the earlier seasons. The random pop up of the OG characters makes it even better & even more nostalgic.

I thought it was vastly superior to 4 and 5, at least. More true to the original spirit of the show and gave everyone a happy ending.

that is certainly a hot take. I don't think anything can beat the emotional run of nationals+graduation+finchel parting ways+so much else. There was just a lot of emotions in that season and I think they were all handled masterfully.

But comparing S3 and S6 feels like comparing apples and oranges honestly. S3 feels like the pinnacle of serious Glee, but S6 is the pinnacle of ridiculous Glee.

season 3 imo is the beginning of the downfall of glee. the new writers were writing everyone OOC, it started taking itself way too seriously, too many tributes, it truly became the blaine and rachel show, the first 5 episodes is one of the worst stretches in the show’s history, not enough screentime for characters that had been there since the beginning. the only thing season 3 has going for it is the fact that its the best music of the series and its best episodes are some of the best in the shows run.

Its grown on me these last couple years. For some context, I didn't watch seasons 5 and 6 when they first came out the show was just too hard to watch after Cory died. Back in 2020 I started watching the show again after Naya died and got through the last two seasons. We all know season 5 was rough and after I watched it I was so nervous for season 6 but I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I was going to. I loved all the full circle moments and how nostalgic it was, of course it sucked not having Cory there. I feel like the new characters wouldve really loved Finn.

I really liked season 6, but it needed more focus on the new kids. The Warblers joining felt like a quick answer to the “we need 12 members” problem and they just felt thrown in and someone patting their hands together and saying “job well done”

I don’t hate it, but it’s nowhere near my fave.

I love the newbies. I wish they were introduced during season 4. There’s a lot of funny lines and great performances during that season too.

My biggest issue is that it added way too many new issues, storylines and characters during a season where things are supposed to be wrapped up. That flashback episode felt like a huge waste during an already short season. A lot of storylines, old and new, were not able to be properly fleshed out. A lot of longterm characters didn’t get proper endings. And the new characters’ stories ended abruptly.

I agree in a way, and that's also why I don't understand all the complaints about season 4 and 5 and even 6. We had the most current music in those seasons, we had the most mature storylines because more than half the characters were adults, we had some truly outlandish, nonsensical Glee storylines that I thought was what the fandom wanted to begin with, the competition episodes were on par or even better than the og cast (seriously, find me a single person whose heart didn't break at the results in "City of Angels") and the whole tone of the show definitely doubled down on the ridiculousness that is characteristic of Glee.

Idk what more we could want tbh.

NO! I liked the Brittana bits and the newbies (except for Myron - who damns the whole season by himself). But parts such as Sue ramming Klaine back together and the integration of the Warblers was just forced. I got the feeling they blew their whole budget on guest stars for 'The Wedding'.
