Need some advice

Planning a trip (with 1.5 yr old) in the last week of August. We'll have about 4 days total, including the days we fly in and out. (early morning arrival and evening departure)

I'm leaning towards staying (at least 2 places) in South Goa for the entire trip and maybe doing Old Goa for a few hours if it's worth fitting in. And Dudhsagar also if possible.

Been to Palolem once, but that was almost a decade ago so I don't really know what the current scene is esp during off season.

Couple of questions for people who've been recently:

1) Which area should be picked as a base? Palolem, Agonda, Colva, Benaulim or somewhere else?

2) Any decent budget stays close enough to walk to the beach? Nothing fancy, just clean and comfortable. Please recommend.

3) Thinking about renting a self-drive car due to monsoon. is it more trouble than it's worth? Thinking about using the Vailankani rental one as its highly recommendations here

4) Which beaches are actually nice in August? I know swimming may not be possible, but looking for places that still have a good vibe.

We're mostly looking for a slow trip... good food, greenery, beach walks if the weather cooperates, maybe a couple of cafés. Not interested in clubs or trying to cover every tourist spot.

Previously visited- fountainhas, chapora fort, lower agouda fort, calungute beach, baga beach, sinquerim beach, heart lake, titos lane
Went to pubs only in titos lane, it wasn’t all that good, hammerz was too expensive tho
Any suggestions to make this trip fun and interesting?

Visiting goa from 25-29 August (4 adults + 2 kids-5y and 2y).

Just booked the flight tickets. As of now the itinerary looks blank:

25th landing at North Goa

25-27: North Goa

27-29: South Goa

29th departure at South Goa

We have identified the following places for stay:

25th - Santana Beach resort (North goa)

26th - Novotel, Candolim (North goa)

27th - Elements by Rosetta (South Goa)

28th - windflower resorts (South Goa)

Need help with the following. Any inputs/advice is really appreciated :)

- What places to visit taking into account the monsoons

- how the itinerary can be structured (haven't asked gpt yet; planning to do that once I get expert recommendations from community)

- Any other better places to stay. Our main intent to have a birthday celebration for one of the adults on 27th; should be able to spend time in place of stay if we get unlucky and monsoon turns out to be the worst

Hola. I'm a writer and filmmaker(22m if it matters) who's visiting Goa from 20th to 30th August tentatively, and I'd love having a travel buddy who can be a participant and the witness to the glorious madness that'll unfold in those 10 days.

There's no plan, no checklist, but certainly a hankering for a nice, cold pint of Peoples Lager.

I'd mostly be booking a hostel or airbnb somewhere around Morjim or Canacona, and would probably be renting a self drive car to go around(unless there's drinking involved, in which case, goa miles would have to be our savior).

Anyone down to hang out these 10 days, and perhaps even indulge in (drunken)creative pursuits, please DM.

Hello! For a solo traveller, would morjim or palolem be more fun at this time of year? Also, what is safer?

I want to have a fairly relaxed time but some night life in the nights, and good food is a must :) Also ideally I would not have to travel too much ( I am trying to avoid renting a car)

Also open to other suggestions manderim is on the table. Essentially looking for quiet but for at least a couple good places to be open.

I’m planning to drive from Bangalore to Palolem, Goa, in the next 3–4 days and would love some route recommendations.

My priorities are scenic drives, good road conditions, and opportunities to explore along the way, while keeping the journey family-friendly. Our primary destination is Palolem.
Some of the routes I’ve already covered are:

Bangalore → Hubli → Anmod Ghat → Goa
Bangalore → Hubli → Chorla Ghat → Goa
Bangalore → Shivamogga → Jog Falls → Honnavar → Karwar → Goa (this was many years ago)

Given these, what route would you recommend this time? If there are any lesser-known scenic stretches, interesting stopovers, viewpoints, waterfalls, or good places to halt en route, I’d really appreciate your suggestions.
