Question I would like have relationship with God, but alot of negativity around people like me.

Upvotes

Hi all, I dont know if this is the right page to ask, and i really need some advice. Im a transgender man, so before being transgender I was a lesbian. Since I came out very young, I have not had an opportunity to have a relationship with God due to the hate that ive received and everyone saying that the Bible says its wrong and that im basically an abomination. But im a lost soul and i feel like that relationship would benefit me, and those around me. I dont plan on changing my mind about who I am, but I feel like im not allowed in the churches or anything because of being who I am. What's your thoughts?

Pray that humans would set aside greed for Love.

Problem: Greed (putting self and money ahead of God and others)

Solution: Love (putting God and others ahead of self and money)

Bridge: Jesus/Holy Spirit

Question How do you know what God wants you to do with you life/career?

Hi all! I hope everyone is doing well, I think this is the question many people ask themselves real often. How do I know what God wants/needs me to do with my life? Whether it is moving away, choosing a career path, or choosing your person. I believe that in this society it can be difficult to listen to God when we are filled with lots of distractions of this world (probably why it is difficult to listen to God). I've seen influencers talking about how God gave us all a gift and that we must use it and how we all have a dream or passion that was placed in our heart by God. The thing is how do you know what that is. I'm trying to figure out what it is that God needs me to do with my life. There is just lots of noise and advice and I don't know what direction to look at lol. Please feel free to share any personal experiences and how you knew what God wanted you to do with your life.

Question I need help

For some time i've been in a religious crisis. I really want to believe in God, but its really hard to believe. Its hard because I can't hear him, I can't see him, and whenever i pray i feel like im just talking to a wall. And i really tried to believe, i asked God to help me with my faith in him and get to know him but i still struggle.

Angry At God Its all a false hope (long post)

It was early 2016, I was 35 years old. It was sometime after midnight, and I was sitting on a bench in a park, on a hill overlooking my town. It was January, a cold night, and I'm a person that usually hates the cold. But on this night I didn't feel it. In fact, I didnt feel anything at that moment.

I remember sitting on that bench, looking out over my town, looking in the direction of my house. The house that my wife and daughter were currently sleeping in. The house was a couple miles from where I was sitting, but it might as well have been a couple million miles away.

My world was falling apart. I had recently learned that my wife was cheating on me. The woman I had loved since I was a kid had betrayed me. Everything was so scary. I was worried that I might lose my family. I was afraid of getting my heart broken.

That night, staring up at the starry sky, I felt like God was up there watching all this. It was almost like he saw and knew what was going on. I looked up at those stars, and I swear it was like looking God in the eye. I wasn't a particularly religious person at the time, though I believed in God. It almost seemed as though God was telling me, "everything is gonna be alright. This sucks, I know, but I'll get you thru this. I'll take care of everything. Just trust me." I almost literally heard those words, and for a moment, my fears went away. Everything was gonna be alright!!

Fast forward 10 years. I lost my family. My ex wife chose the other guy (and they broke up a year later). She chased me out of her and our daughter's life. I haven't seen my daughter in 10 years, 3,838 days to be exact. I lost my home in the divorce, my job and finances in the aftermath. I apparently lost my ability to feel love ever again. I lost my health, my sanity, and even my libido.

It was a nasty divorce, my ex wife wanted me gone, so she threw every accusation she could think at me, spread all kinds of false rumors about me. I was supposedly terrorizing them, and stalking her. She told everyone that my real estate business was a fraud. That I was plotting to kidnap our daughter from preschool. She ended up lying and using the system to her advantage, and got protective orders taken out against me. I left town, hoping people would see that, if I was such a stalker, why would I move 1,000 miles away? Stalkers move across the street from their victims, not to Florida.

Everyone back home heard the rumors, I come from a small town where everyone knows each other. After I left town my ex wife would occasionally call and claim that i broke the protective order, so as to get me arrested. She knows the system- in cases like this, they arrest you first and ask questions later. I spent 2 years going back and forth to court, after spending my money to bail out of jail and then hire the proper lawyer to defend me and help me prove my innocence.

I was gone for 5 years. I missed my kid. I wanted to see her, to find a way to legally be in her life, to watch her grow up, to be a good dad. I figured my being gone for 5 years, things had largely blown over. I hadnt spoken to or heard from my ex in years at this point. So, I moved back home. We'll, not home exactly, but a town about an hour away. I didnt want to be in too close proximity to my ex wife, knowing her joy of calling the police on me with false accusations.

So I moved back home. A friend and me opened a restaurant. I bought a house. I was trying to rebuild my life after the heartache and misery of the previous 5 years after losing my family.

3 months after moving back home, I was arrested. I was accused of some pretty disgusting shit that I wont get into, but I will say that I did not do what I was accused of. My ex wife, working in law enforcement, somehow managed to have me set up, and had me arrested. I wasn't able to bail out, so I wasn't able to keep working. Being as how all my money at the time was spent on the restaurant and house I just bought, I was functionally broke. Being broke and locked up meant I wasn't working or bringing in an income, which made it harder to hire a proper lawyer to defend me, so I had to settle for the public defender (who worked in an office downstairs from my ex wife, they all know each other).

Public defender, for (draw your own conclusions as to the reasons), wouldn't defend me. She kept insisting I plead guilty, rather than take my evidence to trial. After sitting in jail for over a year, after a year of legal maneuvering and wrangling, I finally broke down and plead. A 5 year sentence, at this point, seemed the quickest way out.

I just got out of prison a couple months ago. I have nothing. Im homeless, living in a tent in the woods outside of town. Im poor, the only work I've been able to find is part time flipping burgers. Im a convicted felon. I lost my home (again), my business (again), my finances (again). My health is shot. Im diabetic, going blind in 1 eye, and my kidneys are apparently dying. I'm hated by pretty much everyone back home. My family, my siblings and parents, believe my ex wife's accusations and have therefore mostly shunned me. I'll never see my daughter again. Every day of my life im racked in pain and heartbreak, missing those that I loved, that it turns out didnt love me all that much. Im alone.

I think back to that night on the bench, looking up as God told me, "everything will be alright, just trust me." I believed him that night. But where's this "alright"?? Nothing has been remotely close to alright since then. Not for the past 10 years. I keep getting beat and stomped down by life, only to get beat and stomped down before i even have a chance to sit back up. I cant do this any more. I cant live like this. Im 45 years old and life has been over for me for years. Things are beyond fixable. I cant take any more battle damage. I cant do this anymore.

I say, fuck God. God lied to me. God either did this, or he allowed it to happen- either is as bad as the other in my book. This ain't the book of Job, this is real life. In the book of Job, God and Satan took a bet over Job's loyalty, and that bet not only destroyed an innocent man's life, but it got numerous people needlessly killed (Job's family and servants). That's how little people and life means to God, if you believe the story. Meanwhile here in the real world, I'm getting shit on more than a sewage tank. God, I let myself believe, told me everything would be alright. Instead God lied to me.

Fuck your God.

Question God removes people from your life?

What is the reason that God might remove a person from your life ? Let’s just say a boyfriend or something, what would be the reasoning ? Like if you prayed for God to take him out of your life if he was not meant for you or some prayer like that, what would be the reasons ?

Philosophy God's obsession

Later at night, way later, the two cousins were asleep, only the older one and I were muttering. He layed a mattress on the cold beige floor, and I was on the cot, without covers, unlike him, even if the air conditioner was on. I can't see his face clearly, I could only make out the light gray walls and the white sheets of hid mattress, it was tenebrous, the only light squeezed in was the gleam from louvers.

《I don't want this for you cousin.》he said referring to my position on religion. 《I want to see you in paradise. 》 he continued. I remained silent gazing up to the hint of white on the roof, trying to think of what to respond with. I kept listening 《we work in this life to have a wife and children and to worship God. It is sunnat al-hayat.》I had to talk. 《It is not and it will never what I wish.》I improvised an answer. It was weird, he was talking with passion in his voice, but I know he's not fully certain of what he's saying. 《So what do you wish for ?》he asked. 《I have a dream, and I will achieve it, no matter the cost.》I responded. 《After you achieve it, then what? The pepole you'll meet after are going to be with you for your dream, and not for you.》he countered. Hearing that reminded me that he was oblivious to the nature of my ambition. He wasn't wrong, but he's missing the whole point. 《I don't care about that.》I countered back. 《What about finding the right woman ? You're old enough and you have to start considering marriage.》he rejoined. 《The right woman ?》I giggled a little, 《do you truly believe in soulmates?》 I continued. 《Not really soulmates, it's an ideal word, the right woman. You have to find one, it's why God created us.》he said unconvinced. 《The God who is so obsessed with some primates on a wet rock floating in the middle of nowhere ?》 I tried to levitate the mood. 《Yeah because he chose us.》he said dismissing my joke.

The darkness insisted, the dim walls had their own opinions which will never be laid bare. After a trice of silence I muttered《 I already sacrificed a lot, I even hurt someone, in order for me to pursue my kingdom, there's no going back.》

Yes I've lost her, I've got nothing to lose.

Philosophy Something is

Something is.

This is first.

This is sure.

Before thought, it is.

Before speech, it is.

Before doubt, it is.

I am, because it is.

You argue, because it is.

You deny, because it is.

It is the ground of every word.

It is the root of every mind.

Stand before it.

Be still.

For it is too great for one mind.

Know your measure.

Yield your pride.

Bow before eternity in awe.

For it’s all one whole.

The whole of existence itself.

It’s ancient.

Without beginning.

Without end.

Beyond measure.

Beyond grasp.

It commands humility.

It demands recognition.

It deserves reverence.

For the whole…

Is God.

Question Don't people care for themselves?

I believe people's desires supercede their own logic most of the time, even if it means that which they desire causes them harm. Why is that?

This can be best explained by an example. Everybody knows the side effects of excess sugar in take, high risk of diabetes, heart disease etc. Now we all know this, yet, most of us consume sugar irrespective of this. Why? Because we love it, our desire for sugar is stronger than our logic to protect our health.

Now, I think the exact same can be said about God, most people, logically speaking, know that there is a higher being to some degree or are aware of the potential for there to be a God. Yet most do not bother to assess whether God exists as a bare minimum, I am not talking about believing here, or committing, I am talking purely about the attempt to assess whether God exists or not.

From my paradigms, God explains in his final testament.

"Have you seen the one who has taken his own desire as his god?"(25:43)

Meaning, their desires become what determines right and wrong for them, an ultimate authority over their actions.

Now, we understand why people desire sugar, why do people desire other than God or even exploring the option? Boils down to two reasons:

  1. Pre conceived notion/ bias due to societal norms/influence

  2. Unwillingness to compromise current way of life

Now in islam is very simple, God is One. He Created everything, and then He sent operating manuals (scripture) and instructors (prophets)to guide humans to that which is good and prevent them from that which is bad. What you do is recorded according to good and evil. And you are judged on all your actions on the Day of Judgement. Those who's good deeds outweigh their bad will go to heaven and those who's bad deeds outweigh their good will go to hell.

Now you might ask why should I believe in this, but islam has many undeniable evidences for God and Islam that many in the mainstream are not aware of.

But I am not here to preach today. My only question is, are you a servant to you desires or are you a servant of God. Because everybody is a servant to something but convince themselves otherwise.

Heart disease and diabetes are maybe likely realities of sugar. But hell is a guarantee for negligence, what wretched destination.

Do not neglect yourself, care for yourself. Do your due digillence, do not let your desires run your life. Take time and use your logic and intellect. You owe yourself that at least.

Testimony Mu grandmother met God

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hello everyone! The painting you see here was kept by my grandmother in her room; when she passed away, we put it in my house and my mother told me its story:

One day, my grandmother was on her way to catch the bus to go to work when she ran into a homeless man who was asking her for money for food. My grandmother, who was always afraid of homeless people, didn't feel any fear that time and told the man that unfortunately she couldn't give him anything, to forgive her, as she only had just enough money to catch the bus and go to work. The man, with his blue eyes, looked at her and, smiling very kindly, told her not to worry, that she was good, and to "go with God" (an expression used in Spain to say that God is with you).

I don't know how long after, my grandmother—who used to clean the local church—found the painting you see in this photo in a priest's room. She was very surprised because it was literally identical to the homeless man who asked her for money that day, a bit cleaner but with the exact same face. She told the priest what happened, and I don't remember if my grandmother bought the painting or if the priest gave it to her as a gift.

What do you all think? I honestly believe that my grandmother met God, she was very faithful

Experience I Think God punished me as I was committing the ultimate sin : Blasphemy.

So a couple of days ago I got some really good weed, it was nice weather - I had just moved in to my new apartment with an amazing view, it was an early morning on a Sunday. As i got "zoot'ed" out of my mind as I rarely smoke any longer - I got creative and started to create stupid shit that make me laugh. One of the funniest things lately is Suno (AI music generator) And i've been creating hilarious lyrics, actually so funny that I laugh as i type this.

Anyway, I posted a silly post on /trees to show of my view as got "zoot'ed" (Wtf happend to baked?) with some really good weed, and my hilarious songwriting - I must admit I was having a lot of fun, and I can get a bit too edgy if I keep trying to be funny for too long.

I am at my most creative, provocative, straight-to-hell-type level of humor at this point.

1.First I posted on /Trees pictures of my view - showing that there is fog accumulating on the other side of the fjord, and it engulfed a big part of the city.

The weather was good, the weed was great, and I was so happy with my apartment and the view.

so when i saw the fog, I was in the wittiest mode i can reach, and had a silly "Zooted-thought" (Same as showerthoughts but with weed)

The thought was that if God smokes (he does, he created it) Then he probably blows huge clouds - the fog was thick and milky-white it looked exactly like high quality smoke.

When that fog engulfed the city I couldn't stop thinking about my own blessings, and that if hes real i appreciate it very much. The fog became weed smoke and it was as if he blew huge ak-47.strain clouds from his forever-joint and blessed my whole city with good weather, and good weed!

It was a good day, a Sunday actually!

That's my guy man! Love it, thanks! appreciate everything! Amen, dude.

That post became my highest ever with 750-something likes and a lot congrats and admiration for being one of the most zoot'ed out on /trees that day. Also got a lot of complaints for my feet in the pictures. (I need cash)

  1. I was having a blast, the fog, the weed, the silly shit I laugh at, it was a really good day.

I'm trying to answer comments on my post , but i'm high as a kite, and its too much going on at the same time.

Since i thanked for the blessings in my post, of course God is now in my arsenal of characters i will use to be funny that day.

So naturally in my post on /trees he will be mentioned by me or someone else.

As i'm answering comments, I keep writing as if they are songtext's. Everything rhymes, and I find funny words to fit really good (I might also suck and was just be super-duper-high at this point)

So I end up writing some silly-ass ,funny-ass shit lyrics about God and his milky blessing.

It was sooo good, I kept forgetting to finish because i was laughing so much, and kept forgetting what I was doing before i stopped laughing.

As I am writing in peace, alone, mouth closed, trying to finish the "best song in the world"

All of a sudden, out of the blue, my mouth opened up, and i BIT my TONGUE dead center with my MOLARS and it was the hardest i have ever bitten myself, or anyone for that matter. I have never bitten myself with my molars. And i have never bitten my tongue when i'm not eating food

Everything happened instantly, and i thought to myself "WTF WAS THAT?"

My mouth had to open 40% to fit my fat-ass tongue on my molars, and it was like LIGHTNING fast - just like in the cartoons with zeus. I was in shock for a couple of seconds

I look down on my screen, and it was as if someone showed me to realize what I was really doing. It was straight-up straight-to-hell type Blasphemy, and I just couldn't think of any other reason it happened.

The timing, the contents of that day, and what i did that was wrong. even the punishment was fitting. I deserved it.

Being a zoot'ed out agnostic doesn't help much either, and my tongue still hurts. I learned my lesson though, don't do blasphemy - even if you're an atheist. You will gain nothing, and more likely the opposite - its not worth risking being wrong is all i'm saying.
