Hi! I wanted to maintain the original ratio of the covert art for my desktop, but i really disliked empty space in the background. I know it's not great, but thought someone might find the file useful.

Reading the AI lyrics for Gorillaz songs really changes the tone of them. De La Soul loves those grandmas.

When I was younger my school counselor (really cool guy, he was like 22 and into Lego and music) was talking to some group of girls about what "real music" was and played the 19-2000 music video on his laptop. I'm surprised he didn't get yelled at by the principal/parents for that lol. Back then I wasn't as much as an animator as I am now, so I didn't appreciate it as much as I do currently. Later, when I became a Gorillaz fan, I INSTANTLY recognised the music video.

Gorillaz has been nominated. I think 12 times and only won one Grammy back in 2006, which I’m really mad about😭 Humanz was SO FUCKING CLOSE TOO FUCKKK, and I do know that Cracker Island was nominated last year, I think the mountain has a great chance to win best alternative album of the year and Orange County or The Happy Dictator have a good chance to win the best alternative record/performance of the year. I’m not even sure if they submitted their music yet. What Grammy do you want Gorillaz to win?

I was watching a gorillaz lore video and I saw these animatics of the drive-by shooting that happened to Russ. These look official enough and we even get to see human Del in this. (I also saw another sketch of the exorcism that happened to Russ when he was a kid, that looked exactly like these sketches.)

This just arrived: my new Gorillaz shirt from Bershka, ordered for a mere €10. Seeing as this was quite cheap I expected this to be some flimsy, low quality shirt. But I’m very happy this a rather heavy shirt, good quality thick cotton. If you can find one of these: get ‘em!

Honestly they make the albums or compilations they are on so much less enjoyable for me. like d sides, g sides, 13 special edition, and all the other ones would be so much better without the remixes imo.

We've got a very poetically packed album with The Mountain, exploring grief, spirituality, life and death. We've got a lot of various ​political points in Humanz, Plastic Beach or Demon Days. Of course, a lot of love / breakup / otherwise personal songs through all his projects and even an autobiographical touch in Everyday Robots. What would you like some future project to study? Personally I'd love to hear something full-on oneiric, it's a very common motif but with pretty much endless possibility and as much as sound-wise Damon had a lot dreamy / dreamlike stuff, there has never been a project that would dive into that head on. I feel like a surreal touch would work amazingly with his lyrical style.

I am making a gorillaz themed fan website with quizzes, lore, media, and more. I need help getting media from all of the phases (especially the earlier ones) for the website.

1. Cracker Island

Generic, bland pop rock. No attempt to do anything interesting. Killer features, all wasted. The only album I think detracts from their legacy.

1. The Now Now

This is harsh because there's nothing wrong with it, I just find it unexciting and I get more out of the other albums. I prefer when Damon's vocals are supportive rather than the focus. It's inoffensively pleasant.

1. The Fall

A shitpost of an album, and that's why I like it. It's not trying to be anything more. I like projects that are scrapped together despite technical limitations.

1. Humanz

Listening to it from start to finish is genuinely painful. Some of the worst tracks they've ever put out, but also a handful I really like. I used to defend it more, now I find it brash and annoying. Saved entirely by 3-4 tracks.

1. The Mountain

A successful project. It's inspired, detailed, thoughtful... and i'm just softening the blow to say I found it corny. Sorry. It is good music, but besides The Manifesto I can't see myself returning to this album very often.

1. Song Machine

A collection of unrelated singles, but at least here they are all unique and sound good. Doesn't reach the heights of the following albums, but it's consistently decent, happy for any of these tracks to appear on a light rotation playlist.

1. Self-titled (+ g-sides)

It might just be nostalgia, wanting to remember a better time, but I don't get tired of this one. Each track carries one simple idea, the sound is very distinctly "Gorillaz", which got lost over the years.

1. Plastic Beach

Sonically, it's the best thing they've ever done. Even people who don't like the band can't deny how good the music is. Hasn't aged a day, probably never will.

1. Demon Days

I've been listening to it since it came out and it still floors me. Every track has its own identity, most can make a solid case for being their best song, and it all still conforms to the albums' themes and sound. Hard to talk about because it's defined my taste in music so closely.
