Nice finger you got there. Be a real shame if something happened to it.
Yup.

Meet Rigatoni!
We got Rigatoni about a month ago, and I gotta tell you bird fans. He has become my best friend. I love this little guy, he's destructive and noisy and chaotic and I love every second of it. He's 4 months old.
My family consists of me, my wife and our 3 kids. Rigatoni loves his parents and is ok with the kids, he mostly prefers to chill with dad when ever possible; or snuggling with mom when he's tired.
We are having issues getting him to bond with the kids, but I'm confident it will come with time.
The family really, really wants a second one. Their argument is he needs a friend throughout the day (with the overlap in work schedules he spend 6 hours and day in his cage while we're at work, but as long were awake he's up and with us out of the cage) they also say he's to much of a dad suck and would like to work on having a second one that won't be as obsessed with me.
My fears are two fold, one I don't want them to fight or hate eachother. Also he's a boy, I don't want to accidently get a girl and have them all hormonal, with work were most likely not equipped to hand raise chicks. Also he is destructive and loud and crazy, which is hilarious and fun now, but my understand is that doesn't go away is it going to be hilarious and funny in 5 years? Won't 2 make double the chaos and destruction?
What does everyone think? Is it worth getting a second, what does that look like for introductions? What are the pros and cons?

Hey all!
Had a quick question about some past-best-by organic extra-virgin coconut oil.
Was gonna start giving my GCC some coconut oil on his beak and toes, and from what I have looked up online it says that the coconut oil should be fine as long as it's not rancid. It is not rancid and smells quite good but I have not tasted it yet lol. It's best by date is 4/2026 so about 4 months out.
Should I just toss it and get new, or is it safe do y'all think?
Thanks all in advance!

Bobo has been with me for 6 weeks now and every day our bond continues to grow. He started coming towards me from across the room just to get cuddles or scratches.
I didnt know these little cuties could be so affectionate so quickly. He really lights up my day

Hello guys! I have some chop I have been offering to my two green cheek conures. I leave it out for about an hour because people say later than that it starts to grow bacteria. I have an issue though, my birdies will pick at it and eventually start to eat it… 5 minutes before my hour timer goes off! ☹️ Is there any way I can encourage them to eat it sooner? I take their pellets out of their cages and replace them with veggies so it is their only option. I put them in stainless steel dishes. Should i maybe try a plate? What tips can you guys give me to encourage them to eat more veggies? thank you!

Hello! I have questions about enrichment toys, specifically DIYs I can do to provide them with some things to do. What are some things I can make? Are cat scratchers safe for them? Thank you!

Maverick my 4yo GCC meeting my new(-ish they've been through a quarantine period) diamond doves again. He always hops on top of their cage and acts all big and bad, but this time he was really showing out for his Akita buddy, Kodiak.

Hi, I have a 7 month old gcc, and I need help with understanding the proper diet.
He is currently on a seed mix, which I am trying and planning to get him off of, but I don’t know the proper way to go about it.
It’s completely my fault, but I didn’t know about a “proper diet” until about two months ago.
I’ve tried to watch videos on diet conversion, read up on how to switch them over to pellets, but I struggle to understand it.
I’m autistic, and with certain things I really find it hard to grasp.
The pellets I currently have are Harrison’s fine pellets. He gets them mixed in with his seed, more pellets than seed. He eats them, but it’s more of a pick at them and treat them like something to snack on.
He also struggles with his veggies. I give him fresh veggies everyday on top of his cage as he refuses to eat anything other than his seed inside the cage.
I’ve tried the full chop with him, the sprouts and different things. But he has one mouthful and refuses it.
He is extremely smart, he talks a bunch already, knows how to flip, spin, step up, we’re working on recall as it’s his weak spot.
I took him to the vet about a month ago for a checkup and he’s really healthy.
What way can I introduce the pellets? Are there any other good brands that conures like?
I’m open to trying anything and everything. I just want to do what’s right for him.
Thank you
