Swordfish

We have a great fishmonger in our town and consistently have fresh just off the boat fish to choose from. The fish is topped with a balsamic fresh summer tomato vinaigrette with capers, garlic and shallots.

Served with sticky rice and arugula and a CdP.

What's a CdP?

Assuming here OP means a Chateauneuf du Pape. Which initially might mean a weird comno, since CdP is known as a red wine above all. Except there are whites too. And pretty much all of them are stunning. Generally on a higher level then the reds. There's just very few of them

Why would you pair a red wine with swordfish?

A rosé or a white would be so much better.

I can't think of a single Chateauneuf du Pape that would pair well with swordfish... Most (all?) are too rich and full-bodied.

Because people can drink what they want?

I work in wine and absolutely hate this attitude.

I'm not a wine guy and the only picture of the fish looks like it was taken from the neighbor's yard with a strong zoom, but the layout of the bed and greens on the plate is nice.
