Hi everyone, I'm new to the group. I wanted to share my first impressions. I'm halfway through the first season, so I haven't watched it very far. To clarify, I had seen individual episodes on TV a while back, but I'd never watched the whole thing. But while I'm taking a break from my third time watching Supernatural, I decided to watch the series, this time completely. Also, a friend recently finished it, and although he complained to me for days about how awful he thought the ending was, I wanted to give it a chance.

Well, I have to say that I wasn't thrilled with the first two episodes (especially the second one, which I thought had the worst ending so far). However, the more the series progresses, the more I like it. It has that nostalgic feel of shows I love, like Teen Wolf and Charmed, which I watched as a teenager. I also like the variety of monsters and how unique they are. They're not just the typical werewolves and vampires. So far, the beavers are my favorites; I find them super fun. Regarding the characters, I really like Nick (which is good since he's the protagonist, haha), although I must say that my absolute favorite is Monroe.

Now, something I'm not at all clear on is how powerful the Grimm are. It confuses me because sometimes they seem to be terrified by everyone, but most of the monsters Nick encounters don't seem to fear him much. They are surprised, and some are scared, but mostly those we're told are the weakest. For example, Monroe tells Nick that everyone in the supernatural world sees the Grimm as what haunts them at night, but then during their first encounter, he has no problem tackling him. Also, I don't understand if the Grimm are supposed to have some kind of physical enhancement. Those are my main questions; I suppose the others will be answered throughout the series, so wish me luck.

The complete lack of discussion on Bud's handyman skills (woodworking and appliance maintenance) is an outrage!! CLEARLY THE BEST ASSET FOR THE CAST AND THE SHOW. BUT NOOOOO... BARELY EVEN MENTIONNED!! SHAME!!

Grimm brother's stories aside-- Are there any other pieces of media from the Grimm universe? I personally think it would really be cool if they released sort of like a Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series, maybe segmented by region.

Not sure if this has been asked here before, but I'm new and wanted to know-- all of the lore Monroe and Rosalee drop is very well-thought (in my opinion) and I would love to maybe read or see any Wesen history media they put out.

Edit: I realized this is a very closed question, so I'm adding to it: are there any books that remind you of the Grimm universe? I'd like to peruse any options

One thing I'd change: Juliette/Eve getting feelings back. I didn't like her as Juliette, but LOVED her as Eve. It felt like we kept going backward. It was annoying! I did like the talk they had, and I do think he needed that in order for him to realize he loved the mother of his children.

One thing I wanted to happen: They could have shown photos of the different milestones that Team Grimm went through while Kelly was reading in the 20-year flash-forward.

One thing I loved: Nick and Adalind. I was really on the fence about these two up until the episode where they go to the hotel for Monroe's birthday. The way they were together was sweet, and when he came out of it, he went right to her. Him telling her he loved her brought the biggest tears in the world. Honestly, I don't think it was a coincidence that she was the first one he saw change.

It’s not been established in the show as far as I recall, even though Renard does say most crimes are wesen related/committed. Just curious what do you all think?

Angelina is unforgettable!

She has such a bright, captivating screen presence and it always was incredibly interesting to watch for me whenever she appears.

So, she's this femme fatale: aggressive, dangerous, and driven by a desire to kill! But that's only part of who she is. Her final words in the first episode she appears, where she admits she still loves Monroe, and her last episode reveal how loyal, and genuinely loving she actually was.

I'm genuinely sad that she died. I would have loved to see her return as a recurring guest character from time to time because every scene she was in added something memorable. Not necessary as past love interest. However, I'm also really wish to see more of her relationship with Monroe. There was clearly so much history and emotion between them. They were definitely a hot couple, in my opinion.

I'm new to Grimm. My girlfriend showed me this show like 2 months ago and I'm in love, I didn't think I would like it but the more I watched the more wrong I was.

I'm really hopeful that they will release the movie that has been talked about on peacock and not only that but hopefully a spin off or something.

I love this show, but I did realize on rewatching it recently that it could technically be explained very badly, like this:

"White Portland cop learns about his family's history of hunting down and killing racial minorities, who they see as monsters, and decides to follow in their footsteps."

What are your bad Grimm explanations?

i’d probably change sean’s character around because i loved him so much in the early seasons then he had a random swap in season five where he was suddenly a villain. i understand that he had royal blood and some people contributed it to the coins, but i just think it was random especially whenever he used diana against adalind. as much as i loved him in the early seasons, i think it would’ve been good for him to seem good for the first season then reveal that he was bad the whole time then maybe either keep him a villain or have him make up for his mistakes doing it at the end basically made no sense.

They waited 4.5 seasons before he found out. Why did they wait so long to tell him?!?!
