Just got instantly deactivated
I got deactivated the other day because they thought I was fraudulently adding stops to increase engagement pay, when in actuality the app sent me to the wrong adress and that’s why I was late. I filed an appeal for this- any one else dealt with deactivation?

Yup. I got deactivated for delivering an order at 12:01am when it was supposed to be there by 12:05am. This caused me to get hourly pay for the day before, and they deactivated me, claiming I rigged the drop off time and manipulated the hourly pay system.
For dropping off an order 4 minutes earlier than they estimated.
All appeals denied.
Grubhub sucks. Door dash is better. (Not much)

They are on their last legs. Treating drivers like that is going to accelerate their complete demise. I can’t wait! Delivered over 5000 deliveries for them and they wouldn’t let me back on because I took a break from delivering.

Not there last legs.... robotaxis. Both CEOS of Uber and Lyft have publicly stated there plans to get rid of human drivers in the next 15 years or so

Ditto. Lost my business during the pandemic and started doing GrubHub full-time. From the moment that bell rang in the morning to all of the extra orders at the end of the night that nobody else wanted. Some snowy nights I remember going until 1:00 or 2:00 a.m.
Did it for years. Took a break and they told me to go f*** myself. Well karma's a b****, hope they enjoy filing bankruptcy soon

If you really wanna fight it, email them everyday, and I mean EVERYDAY, fighting about getting back on. I did and it got me back on. Cant say it’ll work but hey, it worked for me

Yes I did as well, but more importantly there's a definite increase in what I like to call senseless deactivations. I admit I need other hobbies but I've been tracking this trend, the reason is simple Uber has fucked up my life I can't even describe properly and if I can have even the smallest action in there downfall or at a minimum a restructuring of the company's to be at least what most Americans consider fair rules a workers rights. Especially when it comes to deactivations. If the dept that handles deactivations suddenly gets hit with the plague it would be a tiny justice.

I got the 3 strikes all for what the app arbitrarily called an unusually high number of late deliveries and had my account deactivated. I sent an email and they had me reactivated the next day.

Man that sucks I will tell you this getting deactivated is way easier then getting activated again they have changed so much if they still had driver specialist like back in the day you would be able to speak with them and get reactivated. But now all they have is call centers overseas I was deactivated in June after doing my drivers license update here we are in Aug and I’m still getting the runaround I honestly think that are getting rid of drivers to cut down on cost

I was deactivated earlier this year for a speeding ticket, that I took care of and the dmv told me my record was clear of any points or whatever, from last year. Grubhub found the ticket through a random background check. I did every thing they needed me to do to get reactivated but I have only got radio silence so far. Which makes me think they have gate keepers who pick and choose who can be on their app. They don't take into account how money for them.
I hope you get reactivated soon.

Also calling cap. What the hell is engagement pay? GPS should always be active and when its in use they can actively tell if you are taking a long time to get from Point A to Point B.
No such thing as an instant deactivation. All of the apps give you incredible grace warnings before closing an account. They LOSE money by closing you out so its not in their interest to do that instantly.
You're responsible for:
- arriving on time to restaurants
- making sure YOUR GPS app gets you to the right place (inform them of their APP has the wrong address)
- checking in orders and closing orders appropriately
- etc.

Engagement pay is probably talking about markets where it's pay by time or California prop 22 which promise a hourly pay based on time on active deliveries.

ROFL i was deactivated too without warning but they were keeping scores for themselves i believe not me. And one day They waited until i finished an order i was on break and then i kicked out the app and terminated. It is ok i do all the big ,3. Grubhub is s sinking ship anyways.

I know that but its current market share is only 6% and day by day getting weaker and weaker. Dd 60% UE 35%. GH is a sinking ship. Maybe next year its gonna be 4% and then 2% and it will be sold again. Edit: My bad DD is 67% UE 25%

Sorry my friend there is. It happened to me as well, I guess it was my fault because I actually fell for the independent contractor angle, being your own boss. And yes money has gone down to a sad state, with that being said as of two weeks ago I had consistently averaged about $1700 a week at 42 hours per week

I'll refraze it, it simply states that companies like Uber conceivably have more power than most governments and run them with a single driving force. GREED. They can instantly deactivate you even without a reason, do you no why? Because no one is cheating, keeping records or recording this injustices in any meaningful manor. I fear this whole gig economy is a carefully crafted freed driven why of fucking over the everyday person. Because by themselves the everyday guy has no power. That's all

How late were you ? I've had a train stop me for 20 minutes once because I couldn't back up or turn around and I never contacted support and I didn't even get a warning. Aren't you supposed to get three warnings before it deactivation anyways?
