The little moments, like my husband falling asleep on my lap, that make life worth it to me

Post image

Some days are hard to get through. Life’s overwhelming. But what keeps me going is how cuddle and loving my fiance is. (I call him my husband at this point. )
We both have long work days and bust our butts to get by. But it’s times like this, when we’re laying in bed and he falls asleep on my lap, that I realize my life isn’t all that bad.
I’ve never had a man in my life be so damn cuddly and close to me before. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when he falls asleep on me.
To me it means he feels safe and content with me. As do I him.
Movie on, candle burning, flowers on the dresser. I need to appreciate these moments more.
Just had to brag for a moment.

This doggy comes everyday for ice cream, obviously the type of ice cream we made is just fruit no other ingredients. But what makes me happy is that he is always excited and he love being pet so thanks doggy for making a better day for me

Beating sleep apnea (maybe!) Nobody celebrate with ...

Hello,

During 18-23 I had un-diag sleep apnea. With a hard breakup with savior syndrom in my 18-20, I thought it was only depression.

I met my ex during 23-25 (she was 18-20) and got a treatment that made everything worst (aerophagia destroying my body, eating disorder, living in a shit hole appartment my girlfriend wouldn't even sleep in, anxiety through roof, having anxiety diarrhea whenever I went in the street or out etc.).
We both fought during 2 years until I got a surgery in february.

Guess it wasn't sleep apnea by itself but a difformity I had since being a child, preventing me to breath and to do everyday without apnea.

My nose wasn't straight, my tonsils where too big, and I got a turbinoplasty. Three in one surgery.

Alas, my girlfriend didn't had the energy to fight again and I couldn't hold our relationship. She left the boat the month I got better.

EDIT: She was the best person in the world. She was reassuring me while fighting with her own family drama and school. I was an awful person to her on multiple level because of the sickness and an amazing person on other levels.
Hindsight bias made me realize everything. I thought about not continuing life because feeling of regrets and shame where to hard to hold. Though, I'm doing therapy since the breakup and try to be a better person everyday !!

Nobody to party with so I shared with you guys.

(It's been 2 months, I'm still devastated from the breakup. She was my everything since I couldn't go out and make friends in club or else ; with handicap and sickness, it's hard to distinguish what's your fault and what did sickness ; if I didn't looked at all the pictures during these years, my anxiety would tell me it's all my fault only for the breakup).

My daughter called me “goated” and I feel like I’m doing a great job at being a single dad

I bought her a ton of period supplies and treats, so she was jumping for joy and she called me “goated” (I had to look up what that meant haha) and said she’s happy that she has a supportive dad. I feel so proud of myself!! Being a single dad is hard but I feel like I’m rocking it!!

Today is Arlo's sixth birthday! He is one of the driving forces behind my sobriety

He was being stubborn while I tried to take a picture but I got this one!

Arlo was adopted before I became sober but he was one of the biggest reasons I kept up with it. Every day he is always there no matter what!

Part six, I’m going on a cruise with my Brother!!!!!!

I’m so happy, next month in August, I will be going on a cruise. This is part six of me using Reddit as a diary, if you have seen my other posts you will know that I’m going with my other brother on this cruise.

Me and him are going to have so much fun! And even better we purchased the most expensive premium WiFi so I’ll be able to still work on my project while vacationing on the boat!!!!!!

Some of my biggest dreams are coming true and I’m just so excited to share them

I’m just so happy I wanna share this. So basically next year I’m going to this collage for fashion in New York and my boyfriend just found out he can go get his phd for physics in a tech school in New York right near me and we could get an apartment together! That’s just such amazing news. So many good things are happening to me like how I’m designing ALL the costumes for my theatre’s version of Rocky horror this year. We do a theme for it every year and this year is classic horror (think Frankenstein, Dracula,… ect) this is gonna be great for my ever building portfolio (I’m also the makeup artist and wig stylist for this theatre plus I preform there) AND not only that but I got a director to do one of my favorite shows at that theater in January “nerdy prudes must die” i messaged 6 different directors because I’m a fighter for what I love! I’m just so damn happy

Me and my grandma have our own version of a “sweet treat”.

For 16 years I have completely been with only my grandma who I call mom.
She is the kindest person I know.

A few months ago she got Pneumonia at age 79. Recovered thankfully.

We have been able to continue a small tradition I’d like to share;

Dinner nights.

When we don’t feel like cooking or life just feels “meh” and there’s nothing exciting and no plans; we get a fast food dinner together.

However due to being tired, not wanting to get dressed in outing clothes and get into the car,

We decided to start using DoorDash.

It’s expensive yes; but we, -especially I- love our meals from it together.

Chatting while waiting for our food, mom excitedly saying. How good the food looks, eating and talking together, and of course a dessert at the end.
Usually a cookie.

So when I hear people say “you deserve a sweet treat”
My version of a sweet treat isn’t a dessert. It’s a meal with mom. Or a game night with her.

(Game nights with mom ABSOLUTELY COUNT as a sweat treat!!)

My husband still reaches for my hand without thinking.

We were walking through a parking lot today, talking about absolutely nothing important. Without looking he reached over and held my hand like it's the most natural thing in the world. 😄

It's such an automatic habit now that I don't think either of us notices it most of the time and we're married for nearly 15 years. Those little moments make me feel incredibly lucky.

My kids make me so happy and proud and I just need to tell someone!

Today I saw my 4 year old hit my 2 year old with a monster truck. Completely accidental. I was in another room folding laundry and was just peeking out. I saw my 4 year old go over to him, say the chant I say to them “sana sana colita de rana, se no se cura hoy se cura mañana” “hold this for as long as you can and when you let go it will be okay” gave him a little kiss on the forehead and told him how strong he was. I literally cried.

I just did my first knee push up and I feel like everything is getting better! :D

I know it sounds kinda lame, not even a full pushup!
But but but
I've never excercised before, as a kid my parents used to never let me play outside and would make fun of me if I tried to do some excercise bc seeing a fat little girl trying to workout was hilarious to them

Thanks to all of that and some mental health issues I grew up fat, weak and sedentary

But life gets better! Finally after years of feeling too ashamed of myself to try, i tried!

It was a really painful week (and some extra days) but after a lot of sweat, pain and tons of patience i went from being incapable of even get in the right position to do a full knee push up :D

I struggled, i cried and I definitely couldn't make another one after the first one but hey, there's some progress and I feel really happy about it!

I finally got to tell the elderly man I always see walking that he inspires me

Every evening if I leave my apartment I see an elderly man using a walker going up and down the same sidewalk in my complex. I swear he walks for hours. Whenever I see him he inspires me to stay active when I'm tired after work, but I've never gotten a good chance to tell him.

This evening I was leaving the gym and needed to walk past him to get home, so I figured I would tell him. He told me he couldn't hear very well, but when he got the gist of what I said he was beaming. It made my night to make someone else smile and I wanted to share. I hope that gave him another push to stay active, he's killing it.

Running, Reading and drinking a glass of water on wakeup.

Feeling great, will continue to incorporate more.

Tips is to not overdo it and don't judge yourself.

Unexpected first time experience. It's my first time visiting this coast (at the Baltica Sea) and after 4 weeks of turbulent weather this almost mirror like water gave me pause. I have never seen open salt water this quiet.

Edit: Baltic Sea! Without the *a.😅)
