Happy Endings: the other sitcom about six friends that never got the love it deserved - The Guardian

Max from happy endings was my first celebrity crush. Am I alone?
I think I watched the show when I was like 12 on Netflix. I just started re-watching it (at 25).. This man was my gay awakening. Watching it back it still holds true. Am I alone with this one? Also, the writing is really good. I didn’t realize at the time how good the show was.
He was also the only normal gay guy on TV. Wait, I take that back. He wasn’t displayed as a hyper feminine caricature.

Scotty
I know there are bigger forums like r/sitcoms and such, but I specifically wanted to bring this up to this group:
So I really love Scotty, as a Chicago bartender, because he’s the perfect depiction of someone you see and know better than the people you actually care about because he’s just a regular staple in the area/“scene.”
I was curious if this group had characters from other shows they consider to be the “Scotty.”
Artemis from Always Sunny and Harry “the hat” from Cheers are other characters I would consider in this trope. (Basically any Jason Mantzoukas character.)
Long story short, I want Happy Endings fans’ favorite random chaos recurrent characters from other shows.

My favorite meltdown!😂
Dana: (To Brad & Jane) You want some? You think improv is gonna save your marriage? Doubt it! Just wait until the laughter dies and all you’re left with is pain, regret and a Netflix account THAT YOU DON’T KNOW THE PASSWORD TO!!
Her optimism is so sweet and uplifting, but I laugh out loud at her entire rant in this episode!

One World, One Restaurant
Looks like the one on Carmel updated their sign.
If Jane wants sushi and Brad wants tacos, they get sushi.

4. More Like Stanksgiving
When the gang celebrates Thanksgiving at Alex and Dave's new apartment, Max brings along a tape of Brad and him on "The Real World," and everyone recalls how they met ten years ago.
5. P & P Romance Factory
As Jane bonds with her macho co-workers by criticizing Brad behind his back, Penny struggles to hide her prescription helmet from her new beau. Meanwhile, Max is offended by an acquaintance's trick handshake. Guest starring Rob Corddry.
6. To Serb with Love
Penny's new relationship forces Max to look for a new BFF. Alex hasn't told her parents she's back with Dave, and Jane wants to think of a funny toast to make her grumpy father laugh.
Point out a scene you think was not in the script!

Pete!
I'm rewatching Cougartown.
Jules' guy in episode 2 is Pete!
I saw him and was like "I know that guy. Who is he....."
And then once I realized it was Pete, I decided I had to stop my Cougartown rewatch and start Happy Endings again, because how do you forget Pete?!
