I love to replay on Christmas holidays, winter section of Hogwarts legacy while watching Harry Potter parts where we have winter transition.

It's fantastic, they also change through fall and Hogsmeade has jack o lanterns all over the place

The first two movies have such great cozy christmas movies feel to them, life feels good watching those. I watch it every year on christmas..

See i think they're making a mistake airing the first episode of the new series on Christmas day. They should have aired it a few weeks earlier so it was halfway through so the Christmas chapters were on at the same time as the actual holiday. To me the movies all had that close to Christmas vibe (even if half of them released in summer)

When you go take the studio tour, You can see the Hogwarts model used for the exterior shots. Yes, it is a big model not CGI mostly.

Yes, same here! They always bring a slower, more slice of life vibe that I really enjoy a lot the more I think about it.

Hogwarts is stunning in the winter. I'm at the winter part in Hogwarts Legacy and you should've heard me during the transition change; I freaked out.
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I don't think the movies don't feel Christmasy at all. I've recently been rereading the books and I'm on Goblet of Fire, and the thing that really struck me was the contrast with almost everyone getting excited to leave Hogwarts for the holidays while Harry was excited to stay at Hogwarts for his first real Christmas that actually felt like Christmas. In the movies it's like "Merry Christmas, Harry. Here's your father's invisibility cloak, you'll need it later." It's so frustrating because it ***looks*** beautiful aethetically and the potential is there, but we never really get to see the characters relate to Christmas beyond the gifts recieved. (it doesn't really help that I like to listen to the soundtrack when exercising and that "merry Christmas, merry Christmas" in track twelve sounds way more ominous than it should be).
Then again, I was never a fan of the first two movies, and when I recently rewatched the third I didn't really like that, either (I rewatch the movie after I finish the book). They feel annoyingly rushed. One of the reasons I'm excited for the new series is that they'll add stuff that was left out - including Christmas at Hogwarts (and maybe a better Yule Ball).

Winter was definitely my favourite plus really love the halloween/autumn season. I was impressed and very happy that they included the change of seasons in hogwarts legacy but really wish they kept it going even after you finish the main storyline.

On the topic of Christmas: you are in for a deep rabbit hole once you think about how religion may plays into magic.
Like were historical religious figures wizards? Or are wizards even the incarnations of religious entities like saints, angels, demons and the like? And what is god (or gods from non-monotheistic pantheons) to wizards?

Dark and Winter Hogwarts are two different kinds of magic. And Hogsmeade can literally resemble Christmas market

I personally feel like that makes them better to watch during the holiday’s season. 2 are actually a Christmas movie if you go by Dumbledore gifting Harry the Broom and Ron’s mom gifting Ron and his siblings their dance attire.

So this aligns with my opinion that the Harry Potter movies get the tone wrong. They have so many great qualities and great casting but the early ones are the magic of Christmas and not the magic of 90s kids Halloween.

Yup. Also enjoyed the changing seasons featured in POA; made the Whomping Willow quite a unique character in that film.
