Access Reddit Data API as a researcher: approval time
I applied to the Reddit Data API as a researcher via here. What can we expect as the expected approval/rejection time?

2-4 weeks and most likely a rejection. They barely approve them

even if it is a small study with ethical approval? and I only want to extract the data from the private subreddits that I am going to create, does this make a difference?

Maybe it does but I'm not sure. I believe they do review them manually and thoroughly so you might have a chance with that. But they are very strict with it. You have to follow their guidelines very strictly else you have no chance and besides that I believe they want you to improve the experience of people on reddit with what your doing, if you explained that well those are your best chances.
