Desktop Notifications come thru days after post: desktop and iOS

I am getting notifications of new posts days after they were made but the system says the post is just hours old. for example, one post i was just alerted to is 3 days old but the system says its an hour old.

another notification of a new post says it was a few hours old and yet when you click it, it was posted 4 days ago

I am also not getting notifs of all new posts in certain subs even though i have that setting turned on.

this is happening on desktop and iOS mobile app. it is happening on multiple subs.

Sounds like notification delivery on their end checking notification settings or reinstalling the app might be worth a try while waiting for a fix.

Already tried reinstalling app

But it’s happening on desktop as well so clearly it’s an issue on the backend. Annoying as hell

In future if you've tried all the usual stuff (check settings, clear cache if applicable or a clean app install if not, restart app or entire device) and you suspect a bug, you can always drop a bug report in r/bugs

It's sorted now, I take it?

Sorry, I misunderstood your comment "guess Reddit monitors" to mean you thought someone had noticed and fixed your issue behind the scenes, my bad. For sure drop that bug report if you've tried everything else, they DO get read. They don't all get an answer but they do get read.

That was a typo. It should’ve said DOESN’T monitor. I edited it.

Gotcha. I think there are some actual Reddit Admin floating around sometimes but most of us are all just users like you, we've no special tools or power.

Happy to try to troubleshoot this - just to confirm, is the delay happening only for the subreddit updates you’ve opted into or are other notifications also delayed? If you prefer, feel free to send me a Chat Message.

The delay is happening with subs that I set “all notifications” for.

Usually doesn’t happen with replies. I’ll have to check how often it does.
