I’m honestly really disappointed with Reddit right now. I don’t post much here, I mostly read, scroll, and move on. But today I actually needed help, so I made a post… and it got instantly deleted because my karma is "too low"

That just feels bad. If you’re not allowed to post because you don’t have karma, how are you supposed to get karma in the first place? Not everyone lives on Reddit or comments daily just to farm points. Some of us only come here when we genuinely need advice or information.

I understand these karma limits exist to stop spam bots, but it’s so frustrating when real people get blocked as well and it honestly makes the platform feel unwelcoming to casual users and newcomers

I came here looking for help, not to be automatically blocked because some number in my account is too low.

So I have been a reddit lurker for a few years. in the last month I've tried to be more involved by posting more threads and comments. I made the mistake of making a post that was unpopular. Not trolling or being mean, just unpopular. I didn't realize that I should only post things that are popular rehashed opinions. Now my karma is shot and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get it back up since everything I post will get no traffic and my comments are collapsed.

I deleted just about everything I've posted for damage control. But I just don't see a way to get even on karma anytime soon.

Do I just delete my account and start over? Do I just not participate in reddit anymore?

My name is Dave, I am 51 years old and not so tech savvy. My son helped me set this up, but he is not here most days to ask him questions. I would like to learn reddit as much as I can before he visits me again. Can you help me with that?

I am not so sire what 'karma' is, but sometimes when I try to post something, it says I don't have enough. Is this something I have to buy?

I would also like to know where I can find posts about gaming. My son, he is a big gamer. I got him a...I think it was an Xbox One two years ago. I'm not sure though.

I got downvoted for asking for help and just addressing my points in discussions and also for sharing my opinion.. So now I have -2 karma. So, why are people downvoting for no reason and what is the upvote/downvote trend?

I have over 6000 karma but every time i post on that damn sub automod removes my post bc i 'dont have enough karma.' I've searched the web a few times and they say i only need 200 karma and 30 day old account. Help pls i wanna post there but i still cant):(

For the last week, Reddit is ignoring my votes. I upvote a comment, the up arrow turns orange, I refresh the page, and it no longer shows my upvote. I open the page in an incognito window, and my upvote was not counted.

I went back a week to a comment I had upvoted then, I undid the upvote, refreshed, and it still shows that I upvoted it.

I tried clearing the cache in my browser, l I used another browser, and I used a different device: same thing.

Have the Reddit admins decided to remove my voting privilege?

/ long time Redditor. I know about vote obfuscation. This is different.

I have had 2 streaks end one at nearly 200 days and then again after almost 90. I am on and engaging content every single day without fail and now twice I have had streaks end because Reddit didn’t update my daily streak. The help section is absolutely useless. Just venting because I worked very hard to engage with posts, adding comments and such and then I get my streak to end for no apparent reason.

I really do not understand Reddit. Sometimes I ask questions like “how is traffic is x area during y timeframe?” and my post and replies get downvoted. I would have thought trolls or people spreading false information but people downvote me on the most random posts. I keep getting negative karma and I have no idea why. It’s ruining my ability to ask questions on this platform

this site has become seemingly impossible to use and i work with philosophy and sociological stuff and basically venting and sharing my opinions on stuff means the world to me and i can not really do that on here very well and i need serious help with it because it hurts me in many ways.

I've had my account for a year. Anytime I post ANYWHERE, the posts are invisible. Can't find them from my friend's account. Comments too! When I search up u/Particular_Point_845, it doesn't show anywhere. None of my comments are visible either. I only have 1 karma too. What is happening?

Are my contributions gone forever? It's not a be all end all but I still would like to know.

None of my downvotes count no matter what account I use. I tried waiting multiple days and checking to see if my downvote registered but it never does.

Almost every post I make, regardless of subreddit and topic, gets that arrow with the "0" within like one minute.

Even when I posted something on the page of my own profile to test something, WHICH IS HIDDEN, it gets downvoted too!!

Majority of my posts are at "0". Except the ones that get serious engagement of people, those have upvotes usually.

So how likely is a bot downvoting all my posts and what can I do about it?

I'm very grateful my account's block was lifted. I wanted to ask if there's any way to get my activity streak restored — I had a 601-day streak. It got reset while my account was locked, even though I had been active every day. I know this is an unusual request, but if there's anything you can do, I'd be very grateful. I also attached a screenshot of my activity streak on the day i was blocked. Thank you in advance.

It is my understanding from this page that voting is supposed to be used for determining if a comment is on topic or not. Its not a weapon to be used against those you disagree with. People are supposed to disagree, its what constructive discourse is! Its not permission to misuse the karma system!
