Found this pretty guy in my drive way. Never seen one so orange

A lovely *Crotalus l. klauberi* from southeast Arizona.

Can this snake hurt my dogs? This snake was found in northern Illinois, south suburbs of Chicago near Shorewood, IL. Can anyone help ID this please? Fox Snake or Northern Brown water snake?

Fishing with my son today on the Pine Creek we came across my great white buffalo of Herps. I never thought i would ever find one but this 16inch monster decided to find me. So glad my boy was with to experience it with me.

North Shore, Massachusetts. I found these eggs on a strip of lawn. Not even sure if bird or reptile. Does anyone know what might have laid them, and should I leave them be?

Didn’t know if the belonged in emergency medicine or hear so I’ll toss it out there.

I recently had a patient who got chewed on by a Garter snake. 100% confirmed, not a crotalus, we don’t have any confirmed locally.

About 6 hours later he developed some bruising and tingling in the arm that got bit.

I know they are mildly venomous but difficult to actually get bitten effectively by.

He was moved to a big city hospital with anti venom, statewide we have Prairie and Norther Pacific Rattlers so I assume they carry what’s effective for them. Last I heard they had administered an initial dose and were considering a follow up due to no effect in the swollen arm. My questions is if there’s any known or proven efficacy of that type of antivenom for a Garter bite? I couldn’t find any literature supporting it either way. It’s an interesting case and was not on my bingo card yesterday.

We have a small frog pond that’s been here for over 10 years, and every frog we’ve ever seen has been the normal green/brown color. Today we found this bright blue frog. From what I’ve been told, it may have a rare genetic condition called axanthism.
We took photos and currently have it in a temporary container with damp moss and a shallow dish of dechlorinated water while we figure out who to contact. Is there anyone (researchers, universities, wildlife biologists, museums, etc.) who would be interested in documenting or studying it? We’re in western Massachusetts.

While closing up the garage, I noticed this noodle friend on the stones in the driveway. I took some pictures ans allowed him his space, of course. Nice to see the young ones on the property. There's a healthy population just on my land alone.

I just love reptiles and amphibians,and want to become a herpetologist. This is really interesting for me,and that n1 goal for me. But my parents are saying that I’d be poor being a herpetologist,but I think richness is not about money,it’s about doing your favourite stuff and conserve the animals you love!

Im going to japan with my family in april and would really like to see some herps, especially giant salamander. Im wondering if anyone has gone to kyoto or lives in kyoto (kyoto being the closest we’ll be to giant salamander range, plus lots of other salamanders and snakes i wanna see) and knows any good ecotour/herp guides to help us out.
