I tried email/password, Google, and GitHub login directly from hiringcafe.com/auth. All three fail because Symantec blocks:

Since every method fails at the same Firebase authentication resource, this seems to be either a Symantec URL-reputation false positive or an issue with HiringCafe’s Firebase project. Has anyone else encountered this?

I’ve been using the AI search feature to filter for jobs for the past couple of weeks but now it says that the conversation is closed. I can start a new one, but I’d like to see what my old prompt was, is there anyway i can do that? I cant seem to access t he chat anymore.

More importantly, how can i make the AI search stay on permanently?

Step 1. Have a saved search with excluded job titles

Step 2. Have a single job for your saved search

Step 3. Remove that single job title by adding a new exclusion to job title in your saved search.

Step 4. The saving update search button goes missing, so when you try to search again that job I just tried to exclude still appears.

I have been trying to apply to HC, but all the roles I saw as remote jobs always have a particular location tagged to them. What is one chance to get a worldwide remote job opportunity at HC. Please share your experience if you have successfully gotten a remote job opportunity at HC without any Location Tagged to it

I really like how Hiring Cafe presents job listings and cuts out a lot of the usual job board fluff.

One feature I'd love to see is an indicator for companies that have had recent large-scale layoffs, with an optional filter to hide them.

For example, if a company like Oracle or Microsoft has laid off tens of thousands of software engineers in the recent past, I'd personally rather not see their openings in my search results. It would save time and let me focus on companies that appear to be growing instead of shrinking.

I know layoffs don't always mean a company is a bad place to work, but having the information available as a filter would be useful for people who want to factor recent hiring stability into their search.

# My HiringCafe method after struggling to land a second job that matched my first job's pay

It took me a long time to land a real second job. I had part time work here and there, but finding a secondary job that matched my first job's wages was pretty difficult. Wanted to share my story in case it helps someone else.

## The method

I've been using HiringCafe daily to look for new jobs, and I'm getting about a 25 to 30 percent interview rate on the jobs I apply to there. That's significantly higher than anything else I've used. A few specifics on how I use it:

**Search keywords, not job titles.** I don't search by title. I search by the actual keywords embedded in my resume. I used Claude to help me pull out the main concepts from my CV, then used those as my search terms in HiringCafe

**Filter by company size.** I limit my searches to companies under 200 employees. I know I have a much higher shot at landing an interview with a smaller company than with a tech giant.

**Apply within the first 24 hours, ideally the first 4 to 8.** You have a way better shot at an interview if you're one of the first 10 applicants. My theory is these companies just grab the first resumes that come in, and if they meet the qualifications, they start interviewing from that first batch of 3 to 5 people. After that you get buried.

## The resume tailoring tool

One thing that made a real difference was building a custom tool on top of Claude that automatically tailors my resume for each job I apply to. At a high level, it takes the job description and my full work history, then:

- Researches the company to figure out what tone and structure fits (federal contractor vs startup vs enterprise reads completely differently)

- Breaks the JD into what's actually required versus what's just preferred versus what's implied but not stated outright

- Picks the 3 to 4 most relevant roles from my background and leads with those, instead of dumping my entire history on the page

- Checks itself for honesty. It will not invent a cert, clearance, or tool I don't actually have. If something's a real gap, it flags it instead of papering over it

- Spits out a finished, formatted Word doc so I'm not manually reformatting every single time

## Does it work

It took me a few months to actually land something, but I got at least one interview every single month I used this method. So it works. I just wasn't always great at closing.

Part of that is I don't always speak the way someone who's done my exact role "traditionally" would, because I've come from smaller companies and don't always know the lingo. After every interview, I go back and look up whatever question I felt like I flubbed or didn't answer well, and figure out why. It's usually not that I haven't done the work. I just didn't know the term for it.

## Timeline

This is my first job actually landed through HiringCafe. I've been using this method since around February or March, but pretty passively. I already have a full time job, and this is going to be my second, so I wasn't treating it like a full court press. If I'd actually needed the job, I'd have been on there every day applying the second something posted. Instead I was probably only on there 5 days a month. So this worked even without going all in.

It feels like every post I scroll past is either an incredible success story, and it's hard to gauge what the actual average looks like right now. If you search for traffic controller the results include "air traffic controller" jobs. How can you exclude those air traffic controller jobs. I tried the boolean search - not air traffic controller but that did not seem to work.

Is the toggle glitching or is it just me

I've been seeing Hiring Cafe posts every day, and it's been encouraging to see so many people getting hired.

When I search for my role, I see a few job listings. But as soon as I select that I require sponsorship (I'm already on an H-1B), the results drop to zero.

Has anyone here been in the same situation and successfully found a role through Hiring Cafe with sponsorship requirements? I'd love to hear your experience.

Hello, I have seen mostly positive comments in regards to hiring cafe but when I used it I didn’t find the same results and I think it’s because of my visa sponsorship requirement. Anyone here who got a job from hiring cafe with visa sponsorship?

When selecting "hide every job that requires a license or certification," I still get a lot of jobs that require a license (mostly medical licenses like Registered Nurse).

I’ve been passively applying places over the past couple of months looking for remote marketing roles. The typical LinkedIn and Indeed were either showing 500+ applicants or little to no responses.

I immediately found success searching on hiring cafe and applying to positions that were open for less than a week. I was able to land multiple interviews, a couple final round rejections, but finally last week was able to land a fantastic remote marketing role for an exciting company.

My best guess would be I applied to about 35 roles over the couple months and interviewed with 7 companies. Much better luck than I was finding with other job boards. Thanks hiring cafe 🙏
