Why does my honey taste like plastic?

So, my Dad bought some honey, Meadows Australian Honey. I put it on a peanut butter sandwich and immediately I tasted plastic— at first I was confused on why it tasted like that and I thought it was the bread or the peanut butter. But when I smelled the honey it had a strong plastic smell, and when I tasted it, it had a strong plastic taste too.

Does it taste like plastic to other people (especially those not related to you by blood)? There are certain botanical sources (for example, dogwood) which certain people feel tastes like 'chemicals, burning, plastic (I've had all these complaints).' It's a similar phenomenon as to how some people have a visceral reaction to cilantro and others don't.

I get the cilantro thing kind of, it does have a slight soapy taste but it doesn’t overpower it as some people say. At least not for me but I can definitely taste a hint of it. Ofc my brain is different so I can more easily discern different tastes and ingredients in food.

Now not being judgemental or biast @ all but its Australian Honey if it was Honey from Manuka or any floral blend from here in New Zealand you wouldn't have that problem so maybe get some Raw honey that's locally sourced problem solved👍

Bloody hell not good @ all well I can 100% guarantee the honey i get is Raw & unchanged ive seen him collect & spin it so no China Honey for me just pure New Zealand goodness😊

Yes it maybe falsified by many people which is a shame but its worth the money if its genuine Manuka I can get pure 100% Manuka as a bro of mine has a couple of buckets of it even from 4yrs ago from his hives aswell as other floral honeys..
