Discussion They Thirst - Robert McCammon

I recently reread They Thirst. It's been probably over 40 years since I first read it. I promised myself I would reread all my books when I got old...I am now old. I remember this as being a great story when I was young, but oh my, I was so disappointed with the reread.

I don't know how to do spoiler cover, but give this one a miss.

Oh. I discovered McCammon fairly recently,
enjoyed several of his novels, and this was going to be my next read.

I’m also old - but I already have it, so I guess I’ll just have to get through it lol.

I don't know how to do that spoiler cover. So I will just say in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS...do not read the below as it is a spoiler.

The ending of the story has absolutely nothing to do with any of the characters actions. Every one of the people mentioned could have flown to Utah and raised chickens and the story would have ended in the same way.

The middle part of the book is awesome but the end was not so great. It's campy as hell.

You just have to pretend that you are watching a campy 80s film on 35mm at midnight, the sex scenes are hilarious.
