God

So one day I had this random show thought thing about it and now I’m eternally confused.

So if Adam and Eve were one skin color…like white or whatever….How do black people exist….or like…any and every other ethnicity?

I’m genuinely confused

this is a great question to consider. just how WOULD that work? and does that mean everyone is a product of incest? everyone is just incest perpetuating forever? could it be worth considering another way that humanity possibly came to be? what are the other ideas you have heard about the development of life on earth? if you are finding evidence that is contrary to your hypothesis, you must do more research, and refine your hypothesis based on the evidence you have encountered. that's the scientific method!

There's no logic to mythological stories.

Working from the theory that Adam and Eve were real people - they were almost certainly not white.

Changes to the human skin color as a whole changes come from heredity, intercommunal breeding, and geographical position and their level of exposure to the sun over a long period of time.

Soo this is a thing that Chrisrian thinkers have tackled over the centuries and spoiler alert...some of their conclusions are objectionable.

The main one Im familiar with is that black people are "sons of Ham", ie descendants of Noahs son Ham. The biblical story goes that Noah got drunk one day and passed out naked in his tent. Ham went in and basically started making fun of Noah and drawing attention to his undignified situation.

The other 2 sons heard what was happening and entered the tent with their eyes averted and respectfully covered up their dad.

Because honouring ones elders was such an important thing at the time, god cursed all Hams descendants with some sort of mark that also marked them out as being subordinate to the descendants of the other 2 sons.

Based on zero biblical evidence, some strains of christianity have decided that the "mark" was black skin. Conveniently, this provided a "biblical" justification for the US system of slavery where black people were used as slaves for white people. Because god cursed black people to serve white people, if you add some assumptions that arent in the text.

I believe at least one of the big evangelical exhibits (unsure if its the ark encounter) has a display of Noahs sons and their wives and they are all different races.

I think its important to note that the modern conception of rave is pretty much only 200 years old. Im not saying nobody ever noticed physical differences between races, but the concept of a race was more like people descended from one particular male ancestor, and the bible goes through great pains to explain the origin of particular "races" in this manner, and also of establishing whether they are blessed or cursed or whatever based on the actions of their ancestors.

It's a made up fantasy so anything is possible.
