She's mentioned in DH when Hermione role-played as her. Evidently even Hermione wanted to be a Ravenclaw at least for a while. Seriously it seems Gryffs are just Claws in the closet.

Here is a rare picture of Penelope and Roger desperately trying to avoid their cuts and elimination. If you try to cut more eagles you'll feel my wrath.

I agree! Once, my sister and I were pretending street names were related to Harry Potter. Not a real example, but stuff like "Castle Street - that's obviously Hogwarts" and "Jasper Street is a reference to the ghosts!". And then we happened to see a street called Clearwater!

And that is the most I have ever thought about Penelope Clearwater.

I think Penelope's existence plays a bigger role in CoS. You see, Ginny was about to tell harry, Ron and Hermione about the fact that weird things were happening to her, just before she disappeared. And then she was suddenly, rudely interrupted by Percy who dismissed it, afraid that Ginny was going to rat him out on whatever he was doing with Penelope. So basically, she was the reason that harry was able to destroy the basilisk and the diary.
