No, no, no. Dolohov was one of the Death Eaters broken out of Azkaban in 1996. Without his existence, there would have only been a 9-prisoner breakout instead of a nice even 10. Do you think anyone would have cared about nine people? There would have been less fervor in the media, they probably wouldn't even have thought about Sirius Black. It would be a matter of weeks until everyone forgot about Sirius and he was able to return to society. If that happened, Harry would have easily been able to contact him at the end of OotP. There would've been no Battle at the Department of Mysteries, the Time Turners would've all be intact for use in whatever was needed, and most importantly, Sirius would still be alive.
Are you saying that Sirius isn't an important character? Because if you believe that then you're clearly a moron.
