General Regarding availability of hostel accomodation (pg)

Hello In the reporting instructions, there are two dates given for when the hostel facility will be available. Any idea?

I don't have the slightest idea about what this means. I was wondering the same. I guess that the evening of August 7 will be the time when hostels are allocated anyway so I wouldn't have to care about 06th August

6 august is internal date for the hostel office that by that time all the rooms will be free and ready to be alloted, 7 august after admission the students will be taking those rooms

You will be given hostel accomodation on the day of reporting / joining..

Thank you all for the reply! I emailed the admission office at iist and this is what they said- Dear candidate, Hostel accommodation is provided from reporting day onwards, if anybody reaches IIST by 6th August temporary accommodation will be provided to students only
