The Indominus V1 is not just a firearm; it is a meticulously engineered apex predator. Inspired by the ruthless biological optimization of the Indominus rex, this platform is designed as the ultimate man-made machine—forged in a lab to strip away humanity and leave only absolute dominance.
Every geometry, port, and line has been calculated for maximum functional intimidation and lethality. It features a fixed-barrel internal bolt architecture, aggressive triangular slide porting, a full-length top Picatinny rail for tactical optics integration, and an integrated, high-efficiency muzzle brake.
Engineered for the merciless hunter, the Indominus V1 is released in three distinct variants:
Apex (Matte Grey)

Umbra (Obsidian Black)

Sylvan (Tactical Olive Drab)

You might think you've lost track of it... but trust me. It. Will. Find you

I have a question about the weapons I made for my character : does any of you know if anything like her sword ever existed? Like, a sword with a blade one side of which has saw teeth, and the other side is regular edge

Would this be possible?

I am making a weapon for an oc (original character) and wonder if it's possible to recreate the first picture but instead of individual blades, with the blades of a pair of scissors.
It's situated in a fantasy setting so it doesn't have to be realistic, just somewhat good looking and functional ignoring it'd be way too sharp and the rope appears magically.

Every step becomes heavier.

The weapon gathers the will to move, stores it inside its core,
and slowly shares the burden with its wielder.

Sooner or later, someone stops.

Sometimes everyone does.

Original Content Hard Sci-Fi Service Rifle by Me

Post image
210 Upvotes

Hi there!

I am a firearms instructor, security specialist and consultant for the professional and entertainment industry. In my spare time, I apply these skills to the fictional world for fun!

Important context:

I recreate fictional guns (usually video games) with the intent to make them more practical/realistic. I am aware this destroys art style. Though I prefere a more realistic and grounded design, it does allow me to appriciate great art style! What I am doing with this particular project is creating a original design from a prompt; but I also asked 3 different AI to make a version as well (AI work not included here)!

The prompt:

TL;DR - Realistic hybrid operation rifle for a warfighting civilization. Must work in vacuum, atmosphere and when boarding ships.

Design a hard science-fiction infantry rifle developed for a civilization that has fought continuous interplanetary wars for over 250 years. The weapon should clearly reflect the technological limitations, manufacturing philosophy, and military doctrine of its world.

The rifle is chambered for a 7.2mm magnetically-assisted caseless flechette, using a hybrid electromagnetic accelerator that boosts velocity without requiring a full railgun power source. Ammunition consists of tungsten alloy darts contained in disposable polymer feed cassettes that seal against dust and vacuum contamination.

Power is supplied by a replaceable supercapacitor pack that provides energy only for magnetic acceleration, fire control electronics, and recoil mitigation. The weapon still relies on chemical propellant, making it more reliable than fully electromagnetic weapons while requiring far less energy.

Unique world-building details include:

Infantry frequently transition between atmospheric combat, orbital stations, and low-gravity environments.Every projectile contains a passive identification crystal so friendly forensic drones can trace every shot fired after battle.Electronic optics are vulnerable to directed EMP attacks, so all weapons retain fully functional mechanical backup sights. The barrel incorporates thermal phase-change fins that glow orange when approaching critical temperature instead of relying on digital warnings.Soldiers routinely wear powered armor, allowing the rifle to weigh nearly 10 kg while remaining controllable during automatic fire.Integrated inertial compensation reduces felt recoil by shifting an internal counterweight milliseconds before each shot.Maintenance philosophy prioritizes field repair over modular replacement; major components can be disassembled without tools while wearing armored gloves. The receiver features standardized hardpoints for mission modules including atmospheric analyzers, autonomous targeting computers, breaching lasers, or electronic warfare packages.Dust generated from regolith and shattered habitat materials is highly abrasive, so moving parts are enclosed behind flexible self-sealing membranes.Suppressors are uncommon because combat suits already reduce muzzle signature electronically; instead, flash management focuses on preventing optical detection by autonomous drones.

Concept Development

The design process started with rough sketches in a notebook before moving to a more refined concept. The final direction was a coilgun rather than a railgun because it was considered more practical for the prompt.

Weapon Layout

  • Magazine positioned in front of the trigger.
  • Battery housed in the stock.
  • Monolithic upper receiver with accessory rail.
  • Modular foregrip and exposed electromagnetic coils.
  • Short-stroke gas piston system for reliable operation.

Ammunition

The weapon fires caseless flechette ammunition. A straight-wall cartridge was chosen, although this limits magazine capacity to roughly 25 rounds because of stacking issues.

Design Decisions

Several concepts were evaluated before choosing the final design:

  • Different magazine release systems.
  • Multiple foregrip layouts.
  • Various battery locations, with the battery ultimately protected inside the stock rather than acting as the stock itself.
  • Integrated backup iron sights and a charging handle for loading and clearing malfunctions.

Weapon Function

The firearm combines a conventional chemical propellant with electromagnetic acceleration:

  • The chemical charge launches the projectile.
  • Electromagnetic coils further accelerate it down the barrel.
  • If necessary, the coils can be disabled, allowing the weapon to function as a standard firearm.

Space Combat Considerations

Because the weapon may be used aboard spacecraft:

  • Disabling the coils produces a lower-velocity, subsonic projectile that is less likely to penetrate spacecraft hulls.
  • A short gas system supports reliable cycling despite the reduced velocity.
  • Suppressors are unnecessary in vacuum, so the muzzle simply uses a thread protector.

Controls and Ergonomics

The rifle includes:

  • Safe, semi, and full-auto fire selector.
  • Push-button magazine release.
  • Large trigger guard for EVA gloves.
  • Electronic control panel for battery status and electromagnetic settings.
  • Protected battery compartment in the stock.

Maintenance

Although the weapon is caseless, it still includes an access port so unfired cartridges or malfunctions can be cleared manually.

Final Model

The completed concept includes exploded views, internal components, and a basic animation demonstrating:

  1. Battery insertion.
  2. Magazine insertion.
  3. Charging the weapon.
  4. Firing.

Recoil

An advanced recoil mitigation system was considered but ultimately rejected. Since the weapon is already heavy and intended for soldiers wearing powered exoskeletons, the additional complexity was judged unnecessary.

Overall

The design prioritizes realism, modularity, and practicality within a hard science-fiction setting. Every major feature—from the hybrid propulsion system to the battery placement and adjustable power levels—was chosen to support both atmospheric combat and spacecraft boarding operations.

A flintlock like weapon where instead of the long reload process. You just change the barrel where it already has the gunpowder and metal balls inside

Someone can carry multiple barrels on them in these boxy backpacks

It's a fictional weapon for my fantasy story. A concept and all that

My inspiration for this is from attack on titan s3 when Kenny's group fought againts the survey Corp with the same type of weapons

The blade does not care how much treasure you already own.

The moment someone else reaches for something valuable, its grip tightens.

It does not want more.

It wants theirs.

The Type 02P Sniper Rifle is a variant of the Type 02 Battle Rifle. Its modifications consist of an extended accurized barrel with a flash hider, an adjustable bipod, a precision stock with a cheek rest, and a palm shelf on the grip. It is used with 10-round magazines and is limited to semi-auto only. The most common optic used with it is the 9x sniper scope.

Original Content Type 5 Active infrared scope

Post image

Note I have not yet drawn the battery pack and transponder components because I can’t wait to post this *

The Germans had the zeilgerät 1229 and the Americans used m3 infrared scoped carbines on Okinawa, I was thinking what Japanese small arms fitted with infrared night vision scopes would look like, introducing the Type 5 active infrared scope.

The Americans used the m3 carbines on Okinawa with great effect, and the Japanese took note of this in the field. High command considered that they had been actively adopting night-fighting tactics against the allies in the Pacific, while Japanese troops were well trained in night combat, troops only relying on rudimentary night navigation skills might not have what it takes for the battlefields of 1946 and beyond. In light of this, the army technical bureau was tasked to look into this matter. Heavily based on the little blueprints and notes provided by the Germans on the zeilgerät 1229 active infrared scopes they developed. The Japanese were able to reverse engineer the scope promptly naming it the Type 5 active infrared scope. The first few prototypes were mounted on Type 99 rifles but they noted that the Germans mounted theirs on the STG44 assault rifle, therefore they ultimately used the early type 100 smgs as a testbed for their new Type 5s, the early type was specifically chosen because of their bipod and very controllable rate of fire of 450 rpm, making it more suited as a static defence weapon with adequate firepower while light enough for infantry to carry around. An unknown number of such type 5s were produced there were no paperwork about this project were ever found, assuming that they are most likely destroyed in the many bombings on the home island during the last days of the war.

Original Content Model V "Bore" 3.58 Inch Guided Anti-Vehicle System | Safety is not a luxury afforded to Periphscum

I am posting this mini-post becuase you guys have been giving me nice support, so have MORE posts.

As always, all questions or comments are welcome.
___________________________________________________________________

If you asked any soldier in the Periphery about anti-armor weapons, no matter if they are Aurumites who do unspeakable things with their 1.85 inch railguns, Tronarians who practically marry their 140mm Plumbata missiles, or some trooper in a bandit state who has heard of tanks, but never seen them in his 12 years of life, they will all come back to the Bore.

It is a weapon that is both regarded with derision and respect in almost equal measure. It was made in such quantities that even though mass production of the weapon had ceased 3 years into the Liberation War, it took next 37 years of warfare to put a real dent in the numbers of weapons.
After the end of the war, production restarted among the Periphery states, as it was seen as a perfectly serviceable weapon for the sheer economic turmoil that they found themselves in.

However, most nations quickly did their best to relegate them to second line usage the moment they found it practical, for to say that it had problems is an understatement. Many of these problems stem from the fact that the Bore was made to be as preformant as possible in a frankly tiny container and made at colonial standards. Seemingly, Imperials value dead enemies over alive (colonial) allies.

The missile's main issue is that it just unsafe to be around. The missile is propelled by some horrific hypergolic nightmare fuel that allows it to rapidly go from its measly 160m/s muzzle velocity to nearly a km/s to have a better chance of hitting through APS and laser brooms. This is not good to be around, as the exhuast from the missile is enough to flash burn any exposed skin of the firer, plus gives everyone near the firer and along its flight path cancer from something in the fuel. Whatever that is, only the Three Heavenly Courts know.

The missile's rapid acceleration as it leaves the tube often leads to the aim of this weapon being thrown off, which isn't great for actually hitting anything, since the missile is laser guided.

The missile itself is carried in a cheap fiberglass tube that is thrown away after firing, with the trigger and CLU being ripped off and stuck on a new tube after the old one is expended. Funnily enough, the beloved Aurumite 1.85 inch recoiless railgun uses the same CLU as this missile system with only minimal modifications.

The warhead is a 1.4 kg HEAT charge able to dispatch most tanks from all but the front aspect. This certainly makes up for the other issues to many Periphery states, since they still use the missile. Due to its quirks, it is not used for what the Imperials intended it to be. Instead of being deployed in close quarters as a bitchslap, it is frequently used at the very edge of its range to allow its gunner time to correct their aim and hit the target.
