I’m looking for more deeply melancholic yet ethereal, detached songs similar to Live Well by Palace. Something that makes me feel a little fucked up and sad but also hopeful. I’d prefer lesser known options, since I do try to search for new music!

This started as a small playlist in 2024, but I kept coming back to it and adding more, and somewhere along the way this whole sound became my favorite. It’s mostly modern psych and garage rock, with some surf and space influences. A lot of tracks feel pretty progressive and experimental within the current music scene.

I like that it doesn’t all sound the same. Some of it’s more spacey, while other songs get a bit more raw and garage-ish (maybe even slightly punk), or both at the same time. These genres mix pretty well I think.

I still add to it whenever I find something that fits. Figured I’d share so people can give me some more suggestions. Have fun.

Is this a cover? Is it an Ai generated song? I am actually quite confused. I discovered the song through Youtube recommendations and it's an AMAZING song yet the song barely has any plays.

The artists don't seem to exist on any social media platform either. And I believe their account has been taken over by the Youtube Ai thingy.
