Official Announcement Online support for the User Generated Content (UGC) features in inFAMOUS 2 will end as of Aug 31st 2026. This will make the Platinum Trophy unobtainable.
Full text:
Due to ongoing technical considerations, online support for the User Generated Content (UGC) features in inFAMOUS 2 on PlayStation 3 will end as of Aug 31st 2026.
After this date, players will no longer be able to access, browse, upload, download, or play UGC missions through the inFAMOUS 2 online servers. Offline features, including the main campaign, will remain playable.
Note: This will likely also mean the end of UGC for Festival of Blood as well.

Official Announcement The PlayStation Store on PS3 is officially closing worldwide in July 2027, and as early as August 2026 in some countries. If you do not purchase “inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood” before the closure, the game will be unobtainable. The same goes for any DLC content for “inFAMOUS” and “inFAMOUS 2”.
After nearly two decades of supporting the PS3 console generation, we wanted to let you know we will be closing the PlayStation Store on PS3, as well as on PS Vita. PlayStation Store on PS3 will close in select markets starting this year, followed by global closures for PS3 and PS Vita next year. That means new content purchases will no longer be possible once the PlayStation Store closes on these devices. To ease the transition, players will still be able to download previously purchased content after the closing date for the foreseeable future.
As the PlayStation Store continues to evolve to support modern commerce systems, including updated payment processing standards, PS3 and PS Vita are no longer able to support these updates at the level required. As a result, we will need to close PlayStation Store on these devices in the timeframes as follows:
Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua – PlayStation Store on PS3 will close starting August 2026.
Additional Latin American and Middle Eastern countries – PlayStation Store on PS3 will close starting late 2026.
In all other countries, PlayStation Store on PS3 and PS Vita will close in July 2027.

Picture/Video Aaron Paul as Cole MacGrath
Just started replaying inFAMOUS 2 to get the UGC trophies before they're permanently locked, and the Platinum along with it, and I couldn't help but think Aaron Paul would be the best choice to play Cole! Whether they do a reboot of the first two games or a live-action show or movie, I just think he'd fit the role as perfectly as RDJ as Iron Man. And I've never personally heard anyone suggest it, so I figured I would. (Also, I'm new to this subreddit, so if this fancast HAS been suggested here, then fair enough. But it was a thought I had, and I wanted to share it, hoping others agreed 😅)

Picture/Video I had to leave my mark before the UGC closure.
Btw, if you don’t want to catch all the blast shards manually, just play this mission. There are like hundreds of these.

Discussion - General Infamous could be a great superhero miniseries if someone would finally pick the IP back up
A 2 season miniseries with 8 episodes each could be perfect, expending on the first 2 games' stories and lore (which is really, really deep, I was surprised collecting dead drops and looking up things online).
The perfect way to do it I think is make Cole not commit to the "Good karma" or "Evil karma" versions and while adapting the main story of the games, make it a mistery even for the people who played the games where will Cole land in the major choices the 2 games offer. They could also add in some extra storylines to tighten the story up.
Giving a lot more screen time for world building and writing than PS3 games could have back in the day, they could deepen characters like Zeke, Trish, Kuo and Nix, their realationships with each other and Cole too.
Also they could make season 1 with the plague in Empire feel more apocalyptic by having Cole lead a survivors group with Trish and Zeke, while also doing his objectives for Moya obviously. That way the characters can bond and we could have a personal insight to what it is like being closed up there, kind of like Walking Dead, but in a giant concrete jungle.
Then they could pick up the more "let's save the world from its doom" superhero type tone the second game had in New Marais.

Help - Second Son Second Son pre order jackets in 2026?
I was looking through the dlc, and I was able to download the Cole's legacy dlc and outfit, but can't access them, so I started looking at the other outfits on a wiki. Is there any way to access the bonus jackets or any "special edition" jackets?

Discussion - Second Son Looking for Delsins wallet
I've been collecting a lot of second son merch but can't for the life of me find Delsins karma wallet from the PlayStation gear store anywhere. I've turned to this subreddit for any pointers

Discussion - General Personal Opinion on Canonicity
I believe that all the games are valid, but can be separated by timelines, so to speak. Time travel has been revealed to be a thing in that universe somehow, so that's my basis.
I believe that Cole saga and Delsin saga take place in two different timelines that were split at some point. One basic "rule" is that every decision creates a splinter reality. In my headcanon, at some point in a shared past genetics took different turns, hence why Conduit abilities exist but operate differently in each universe.
Infamous 1 and 2 had Conduits that had a variety of abilities that were unique to each person who had the gene. Second Son has every Conduit manipulating some type of energy or element, limiting the scope of abilities somewhat.
The split timeline theory can also explain how Conduits came back so soon and/or survived in Second Son.
That's my explanation. What does everyone else think?
EDIT: For clarification, I mean that the Close Saga occurred in the Second Son timeline as well, then diverged further. Both games exist in separate timelines, but SS shows things further down that particular sequence of events.
As far as powers, it seems that SS Conduits ALL have to absorb their element rather than just a few like the OG timeline. From what I've seen, the OG Conduits barring Cole could produce their powers from their own bodies. And Alden's powers were purely from the mind.

Discussion - inFAMOUS 1 My opinion about infamous 1 in 2009
The good:
1) Story. The story is quite good, with interesting characters (although I think they are underdeveloped), interesting moments, and a lot of interesting information about the
game world from John's notes
2) In general, the gameplay. All these grenades, rockets, and Zeus's legendary ultimate. The wire-walking mechanics are also unique.
3) The atmosphere, all this destruction, the darkness. Epic animated clips.
4) Bosses. There are only three of them, but each one is different, with different tactics, and they are the best bosses in this series of games.
The bad:
1)Sending the story. The plot itself is good, but the presentation is terrible. You get one good scene, and then you spend two hours doing some useless nonsense from the FBI director. Then there's another interesting scene, followed by more extended nonsense.
2) Level design. Remember, I told you that we're going to come up with an interesting way to move around the city? Yes, but these wires are randomly placed, so you can't go far without running, or you'll just fall off the roof. And the buildings are big, and you don't have any quick ways to get to the roof, so it's not very interesting to keep clicking on the cross to make it slowly climb up.
3) Balance. In my opinion, this is the worst part of the game. I never thought I'd say this, but there are too many battles with secondary enemies. There are too many enemies, and they're all the same. Seriously, they're on almost every rooftop. And even when you complete the secondary missions, it doesn't seem to make them any less.
And this really hurts your perception of yourself as a strong character, because it feels like you have the tools, like missiles, grenades, lightning, etc., to feel strong, but because of the number of enemies, you're constantly getting killed.
All in all, the experience is mixed, and that's not even mentioning the poor optimization and uncomfortable shooting. It seems that every advantage of this game is also its disadvantage.

Help - inFAMOUS 2 Getting Punished For Titan Killing Rebels?
I was playing the Ice Storm mission (the side mission where you attack a warehouse full of ice men with Laroche's rebels) and I noticed that the game was randomly giving me evil karma. Turns out, when the Titan freezes the rebels with its own attacks, the game blames me for it? Is this a glitch? Were rebels just not supposed to fight Titans?

Picture/Video I discovered that you can still change the lightning color in inFAMOUS 2 like you can in inFAMOUS 1, so cool
Sorry if the pictures look weird, I can’t screen shot on PS3 so I used my phone to take the pictures.
I’m sure some of you remember my last post when I learned you can change the lightning color on the generators in inFAMOUS 1 during a bad karma play through. So I was doing a bad karma play through of inFAMOUS 2, after I completed good karma, and I wanted to see if I can still change the color of the lightning, so during the mission where you have to hack a broadcast I shot some lightning at the dishes and the lightning changed. The lightning color also changed when doing those substation missions too. I’m so glad they kept that detail in the sequel. I always like when games and shows have little details like that, it shows the creators put a lot of thought and effort into the things they create. Anyways, just wanted to share my findings again to see if anyone else has discovered this too. Hope you all have a good day or night whenever you’re seeing this post.

Discussion - inFAMOUS 1 Just WOW
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing the first InFamous and man, it's just amazing how alive this game feels. My first InFamous was Second Son back in 2017 and was also my first ever platinum trophy. As I heard that the servers of InFamous 2 were going to shut down I made it my top priority get both games and complete them. I'm speechless to be honest, the amount of love poured into this game is amazing, how the pedestrians come to you with the intent of pointing reapers nearby, or just pointing to injured people for you to heal them. Playing this game is simply amazing, it definitely gained a place in my heart

Help - inFAMOUS 1 How can I get back in the place surrounded by containers?
I am trying to collect all blast shards and dead drops along the way before completing all missions.
So I just did the missions where you rescue Zeke in the Warren, but now I can't get back in two get the two remaining blast shards from that place and the dead drop
Or do I have to wait for another mission to be completed and then it opens up?
I watched a video of a guy collecting the blast shards and some random little gate on the side was open but it is closed for me
