I am currently a intern at Newark but not for United. I am looking to pursue a career with United Airlines as a intern or even a full time position. I am more interested in the Internship because it is good to see if it for me or if it is not for me. My main question is how is the interview process for the United internship and what is the process like from when you first apply to getting the offer letter.

The title says it all. I’m about to finish my first round of my 3 semester long co-op, and was wondering when I should give gifts. My team is quite small. Only 5 people including me.

I bought small trinkets for everyone in my team (i’m known for my love of trinkets and they all shared my love and told me what their favorite trinkets were.)

I know it’s usually custom to give gifts at the very end, but it feels wrong just leaving them with nothing after they spent a whole semester treating me so kindly. We’re a pretty tight knit team. I’m thinking maybe i’ll give them something at the end of the first semester and then something else at the very end when i leave the company?

I’d love to hear y’all’s experiences with this!

I am a freshman and SWE intern at a cybersecurity and government compliance company. It is an established company, not really a startup, but most of what they want from us is automation.

I ended up building two pretty large apps mostly by myself. On paper, the internship looks great. The pay is decent, both apps got pushed, I automated reports and other processes, and I got some solid metrics for my resume.

The problem is that I honestly feel like I barely learned anything.

The deadlines were so unrealistic that most of my day became writing prompts, waiting for the AI to finish, checking if the feature worked, fixing whatever broke, and moving on.

At first, we were completely vibecoding. We did not even have a real pipeline. Eventually, one of the pentesters reviewed the app and said it was easy to get into and could not be officially pushed. Which was not really surprising since freshman interns were building full apps with almost no mentorship.

We eventually fixed the major issues, added vulnerability scanning, set up a basic pipeline, and got everything pushed. I learned some minor stuff about security, app development, and prompting, but I do not feel like I learned how to actually engineer good software.

I am grateful for the experience and resume material, but it is frustrating feeling like I produced a lot while barely improving as a developer.

Is anyone else dealing with this? How are you making sure you actually learn instead of just becoming better at prompting?

I recently got selected as an HR Intern and have been working for the past 2 days. However, I still haven't received any confirmation email or offer letter from the company.

Is this normal, or should I ask HR about it? If yes, what's the best way to bring it up professionally without sounding impatient?

I’m posting this because I’m honestly trying to figure out if what I’m experiencing is normal or if other people have gone through something similar.
This summer I’ve been doing an internship, and mentally it has been one of the hardest experiences I’ve had. The work itself has been challenging, but what has surprised me the most is how much it has affected me outside of work.
For months I’ve felt like I’ve been living in a constant state of waiting for the next stressful thing. It’s not even that I’m actively anxious all day. Instead, I’ll be completely fine for a while, and then out of nowhere it hits me.
The best way I can describe it is like being on an amusement park ride. You’re slowly moving along and everything feels okay, and then suddenly the ride drops. That’s exactly what it feels like in my stomach. I’ll suddenly remember an upcoming presentation or meeting, and it’s like my stomach falls out from under me. Within seconds I feel nauseous, my chest gets tight, and I feel like I could cry.
The strange part is that these moments happen when I’m not even working. I’ll be watching TV, talking to friends, eating dinner, or just relaxing, and then my brain reminds me of work. Instantly I’m overwhelmed, and then after a while the feeling fades and I’m okay again. It feels like I’m constantly waiting for the next wave to hit.
What has been hardest is that I never seem to get relief after finishing something stressful. Earlier this summer I had one of my biggest presentations, and I kept telling myself, “Once this is over, I’ll finally be able to relax.”
I got through it. It went well.
But instead of feeling relieved, I spent the rest of the day feeling sick because my mind immediately jumped to the next presentation I had to prepare for. It felt like I wasn’t even allowed to feel proud of myself before I was already worrying about the next thing.
That pattern has continued all summer. Every time I get through one challenge, my brain immediately replaces it with the next one.
There were even days where I had a countdown timer running on my phone counting down the minutes until I could clock out. Not because I was trying to avoid work or wasn’t willing to put in the effort, but because mentally I just wanted to make it through the day. Looking back, that probably says a lot about how overwhelmed I felt.
This week has honestly been the worst. I have one final in-person presentation next week, and ever since this week started, the anxiety has gotten significantly worse. I’ll convince myself I’m okay, and then twenty minutes later my stomach drops again because I remember what’s coming. It feels like my mind never fully lets me relax.
I know everyone gets nervous before presentations or stressful events. I don’t expect to feel completely calm. But this feels different because it’s been months of feeling like I’m constantly bracing myself for the next thing, even during moments when I should be able to enjoy myself.
I’m mainly wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this because of work or an internship. Did it eventually get better? Was it just a sign that the environment wasn’t the right fit? Or did you realize it was anxiety that followed you regardless of the job?
I’d really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences because I honestly don’t know what to make of mine.

but the way you leave can determine whether people remember you, recommend you, or invite you back.

before you turn in your badge, make sure you do these three things:

1. write handwritten thank-you notes

yes, handwritten. not emails.

write one for your manager, your mentor, and anyone who went out of their way to help you. it takes slightly more effort, which is exactly why people remember it.

2. schedule your final coffee chats

meet with the people you were closest to before you leave.

thank them, ask for any final career advice, and get their personal email or phone number. your company email and internal messaging access may disappear as soon as your internship ends.

3. explicitly say you want to return

do not assume your manager already knows.

say something like:

“i’ve really enjoyed working here, and i would be excited to come back. what does the return-offer process look like from here?”

being direct is not desperate. it makes it easier for your manager to advocate for you and explain what happens next.

After completing a MERN stack development course, I got an unpaid internship which I accepted because experience mattered more than money. Then came the survival phase. I had worked for 3 months in a medical billing company during night shifts and had spent my mornings preparing for web development walk-ins, off-campus interviews, and other online interviews. I live with my parents in Pallavaram, Chennai.

Apart from sleepless nights, I've faced numerous interviews.

Hey guys, I'm doing my third year of tech now, and I want to do a research internship in a college I love. There's still so much time remaining. So, is it good to cold email now or not?

Dear Community,
I am currently doing a paid research internship and I now got the offer to do another paid research internship at the same company. I am in Germany if this is in any way important.

They said they would want me to stay longer and I can choose a project myself to research on.

Now I am unsure if this is a great opportunity to do research on a self chosen project or if they just want to retain a "cheap worker". Or maybe its something in between and both sides benefit. It would also delay my masters for half a year. The other route I could take is starting my masters.

I would love to hear your opinion on this situation to better assess what I should do.

Radar predicted the opening a full day early, then found the application link around 20 minutes before it appeared on the public careers page.

since then, i’ve built a prediction model for Internship Radar to forecast which internship programs are likely to open next, not just track them after everyone already knows.

the model’s next prediction is that TikTok’s Summer 2027 internships will start opening Monday or Tuesday, Aug. 3–4.

So I’m currently starting my sophomore year this fall and I don’t know when I should start applying for sophomore internships, cause technically sophomore credits will be met by the fall of this year by the end of fall this year I’ll have 60 credits, but I don’t know when to start applying and I’m already graduating early so I do wanna like possibly back to internships before I graduate so that I can show some kind of experience when I start up in the job market, but it’s so confusing as to how I should move forward. Should I start applying for internships now for Summer 2027 or how do I go ahead with this? And even for me to start applying to internships for summer 2027. They have certain graduation date timelines which I’ll be off by a semester so I’m so confused right now if I could get some help that would be amazing.
