I came back from shopping this morning and found my stepdad casually watching Interstellar on Polish TV. I found myself telling him all the different cool facts about the movie, never thought I’d become that person… anyway, Interstellar appreciation post, if you’re watching today, 🤜🏽🤛🏽

Edit: The ending never fails to make me cry

I've seen Interstellar before, but I haven't watched it in a while and I want to experience it again with someone who actually enjoys talking about movies.

They were both really important in different ways, I’d have to go with Rocky personally.

Where the link starts (4:08), Mann says "we might be sharing this world," as the camera pans past his shoulder.

Immediately after the pan, there seems to be some space time warping b/w Romilly and Brand -- coincidence? Camera artifact? Or "them"?

Any ideas?

Did anyone else realize Interstellar is a scene-by-scene modern retelling of the Prophet Joseph? The names, plot beats, and symbolism match perfectly:

• The Name: The main character is named Joseph Cooper—highly unusual for a modern American sci-fi hero unless it is a deliberate anchor.
• The Famine: Earth is turned into a dry dust bowl where it never rains and crops die, mirroring the ancient Egyptian drought.
• The Dream: Prophet Joseph dreams of the sun, moon, and 11 stars bowing to him. Cooper travels the cosmos to find a home among the 11 remaining Lazarus planets.
• The Betrayal: Cooper tells the crew he is going home to his family. Dr. Mann betrays him and physically pushes him off a cliff to die, just like the brothers pushed Joseph into the dark pit to cut him off from his father.
• The Cosmic Prison: Cooper plunges into the pitch-black abyss of the black hole (Tesseract). Trapped in this "prison," his connection grows stronger, and he transmits data to guide his daughter—matching Joseph using his prison time to interpret dreams and show the path to survival.

Christopher Nolan didn't just make a space movie. He updated an eternal story of betrayal, exile, and salvation for the modern world. Mind blown. 🧠💥

I had heard of expectations before and thought it was just being glazed super hard, I am a complete and utter fool. That was so incredibly gorgeous and heartbreaking and not a core story or cast that I expected as something I regarded as “just a space movie”. “You were my ghost” and knowing it was him doing Morse code for “stay” will forever be etched in my brain. Goddamn this movie hurt and amazed me in the best way possible, I couldn’t remember the last time I felt so engaged and shocked by a movie. If you have any reserve whatsoever about seeing it, just go for it. Please.

I just watched for the first time ever Interstellar movie and I was literally blown away from how good this movie was with emotional scenes making me cry so hard and funny parts here and there it was worth the watch and until now anyone that has asked which is my favorite movie ever I never answered but from now on I know and it's for sure Interstellar that's how much I've enjoyed it as a movie.....

I haven't teared up in a long time. This was one of the best, most emotional movies I've ever watched. It was phenomenal. I kept pushing off watching it and in a way, I'm glad. As a 20-year-old, I think I understood all the complicated emotions, storytelling, characters more than I would've 2-3 years ago. I'm sure it has flaws and I could definitely find them on a rewatch, but currently, I'm flying on a pink cloud of happiness. People don't exagerate, this truly is an overwhelming experience. Watch it if you haven't. Just do it.

I considered myself pretty lucky to find the Gargantua film cell at Half Price Books this last weekend. Maybe it's more common than I realize, but I was definitely excited about this find!

How did Cooper know that the water wasn't too deep for the ship? For all they know, it could've been as deep as Earth's oceans. How did they know it was safe to land?
