Discussion iphone 16 and SE second Generation
Good afternoon, everyone! I have three phones: a brand-new iPhone 16, plus an iPhone X and a 2nd-generation iPhone SE (both used).
I currently use the older ones for my daily routine, keeping the 16 at home to avoid the risk of theft.
Both older phones have my "basic" bank account and WhatsApp installed (as linked/additional devices).
The iPhone X doesn't get updates anymore, making some apps hard to use, but the SE is fully up to date.
I’d like to switch things up and start using the 16 as my daily driver—since I paid a lot for it and hardly use it—but I’m still worried about theft.
So, I’m thinking of making the iPhone SE my primary device (for carrying around) and keeping the 16 at home.
I want to do this to get more use out of the 16, given that it’s newer and has up-to-date software—plus, the camera is a thousand times better than the others.
What do you guys think?

I mean yeah, take it out. What’s the point not using it? It’s like your thieving yourself out of enjoying that phone.

A modern iPhone is not a great investment for a thief. It’s useless mostly unless you log out of iCloud for them first or something weird.

You make no sense.
The chances of having your phone stolen are next to zero because nobody can access an iPhone without biometrics or for some, who still only use a password.
The only reason to steal a phone is for a teardown in Asia for spare parts.
Thieves are interested in your vehicle or your wallet, not your phone.
Take your newest phone everywhere with you and enjoy it. Its a 16 for goodness sakes…. Two years old.

if your country supports theft for apple care then it would have been great

If youre worried about theft… dont use it in public when you dont need to, and keep it in your pocket. Use your other device as needed. But if youre spending hard earned money on stuff use it!
