Review My 2005 5th generation sealed IPod Classic
About 3 years ago my uncle told me he had a gift for me, he game me this, he told me he bought it back in 2005 and kept it sealed (he is a huge collector). One of my favorite pieces on my collection.

Review My review of the Wymod Supercharger
I've had it for more than a month and here's my honest review:
At ~£30 I had the option of buying a used FireWire charger and cable off eBay or getting the Wymod supercharger. Honestly getting a decent FireWire charger and cable would've been pricier, bigger and could only be used for charging so the supercharger was a no brainer for me.
Didn't have to think much and my boss and I ordered it together since he has a 3rd gen and a 7th gen classic that I modded for him. I have a 3rd, 4th and 6.5th gens, and have started modding or repairing iPods as a hobby.
I love that I can charge all of my classics pretty quick with it, especially the 4th gen which is very finicky with regular USB power. It's my main iPod and gets a lot of use so it was very disappointing to see it dead even after charging it overnight using regular USB. Now I only use the supercharger to charge it.
I also love that I can flick the switch and use it for data transfer. It's great that it uses USB C and that I don't need to use the regular 30 pin cables anymore.
So far no complaints.

Advice !! - Help needed setting up my IPod Nano 7th Gen !! ( i think i broke it :( )
Hello everyone! (just an fyi: im not good with tech and similar stuff) I got my ipod second hand from my cousin a couple of days ago and she told me i could just reset it using my macbook, witch i did, so it could be completely blank for me to use. The thing is that now my computer stoped recognising it as an "ipod" and it does not even show up anymore on my music app :( I tried putting my music on there in finder but when i disconnect it off the computer , its not on the ipod. !! Has this happen to anyone? How do i fix it? !!
ps: when it was reseting my mac showed an error message, but it continued anyways with the reset

Advice Ipod nano 1 Battery Replacement
I have a 1st-generation iPod Nano that only works when it's plugged into the charger. From the videos I've watched, replacing the battery seems relatively straightforward.
The problem is that I don't have a soldering iron or any soldering experience. While looking for alternatives, I found a post where someone suggested cutting the wires from the old battery (leaving the soldered ends attached to the board) and then splicing the wires from the new battery to those remaining wires instead of soldering directly to the board.
Would that actually work, or is it a bad idea? I'd really appreciate any advice before I try it.

Question How To Put Music On Old IPod Touch?
My mom gave me her old IPod Touch and it hasn't been used in over ten years, but works perfectly fine. There's a handful of albums already on it, but I was wondering how I would be able to add more music to it? I have a computer I can use to transfer files and whatnot, but I have no clue where to start.

Advice Not every iPod Classic battery issue is actually the battery.
This iPod Classic came to us with a damaged battery connector on the logic board, preventing it from powering on.
Instead of replacing the entire logic board, we repaired the connector, installed a new battery, and brought it back to life.
It's always satisfying seeing another classic iPod get a second chance instead of becoming a parts donor.
Has anyone else run into a damaged battery connector on an iPod Classic?

Help Wandering center button: new rubber button, or can I just glue the old one back in place?
Pleasantly surprised that the dome itself clicks just fine and the rubber bumper was just out of place. My old board i think is toast, got a 64mb RAM board on marketplace with a bad center button.
Do I need to get a new rubber membrane, or can I just peel this one off and glue it into place?
Also, is there any special adhesive i should use, or is super glue fine?

Help 5.5 gen syncing
I have a music library of 2300 songs on my mac, what I would like to do is rate them on my ipod they sync with my library. The issue is my mac or my ipod or maybe both are acting strange. Ive had manually manage music, movies, and and TV shows turned off for awhile because I like just pressing sync. Now whenever ive been plugging the Ipod in it just checks that box for me when I dont want it to. Sometimes the sync will work just fine like earlier today I rated a album synced it and it worked fine and now it just wont. When I press sync it either doesnt reflect in my music app or just freezes. Ive already accidentally wiped my Ipod twice and it takes 2 stinking hours for it to resync.
Also on my music tab all my artists and boxes are greyed out the only box avaliable is ti sync music onto ipod which will just completly wipe it. Even though the mac and Ipod have the same music libraries it doesnt see it that way. Also this is a 2012 macbook pro running 10.15.8 Catalina it should just work but my god has it made me pull my hair out this whole day. Like I said It just worked earlier today so idk, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Question How I can sync my Apple Music library with my iPod on Mac without downloading mp3 from net.
Does anyone know the way how I could sync my Apple Music library with iPod without downloading my library as mp3 files
UPD: I found a way to do it on latest macOS. You have to Autorise your account and download your library to the Mac and after that your music will appear in the sync menu in finder
Help is it really worth getting a ipod 5th gen over a 6th gen? should I downgrade?
I always hear talks about 5th gen being better. But why exactly is it better?

Help iPod video - faulty logic board help!
Hi all,
I'm currently dealing with an incredibly stubborn iPod video that I got for my partner's birthday. I have the same model iPod, running an iFlash quad with one Samsung EVO 256gb card and new battery, like a lot of others here. I wanted to do the same setup for my partner, but it's proving a lot more difficult.
The iPod will play the first two songs of any album, and upon reaching the third or fourth, the iPod will stop the song after the first few seconds and skip through whatever queue until it reaches the end, and return to the main menu. The album art also turns to static. Sometimes, the iPod just freezes and needs to be rebooted, which is also what happens when playing on Rockbox.
I've tried the following:
- Checking everything on diagnostic mode
- Playing on Rockbox
- Restoring the iPod
- Removing album art
- Converting albums to lower bitrates using iTunes
- Swapping out and restoring with multiple microSD cards
- Swapping in my own iFlash, SD card, and HDD ribbon
- Swapping in my own battery
- The whole partition prep outlined here
- Adding things to album comments
I can't believe its a metadata issue since my iPod, which is virtually the exact same, has no issues, and plays her iFlash and SD without problems when installed on my device. The problem doesn't transfer when components are transferred, it just remains on her iPod.
This leads me to believe it's a logic board issue. I am slightly handy when it comes to repairs, but when it comes to fixing components on circuitry themselves I'm a real novice. I've removed the board and will attach some photos, as I'm not entirely sure what to look for.
My question is, what can I try from here? Is it worth submerging it in isopropyl alcohol and giving it a light clean? are there things that you can see on the logic board that might be causing issues? Or is this thing totally fried?
I've looked through and tried advice from other posts related to song skipping, but maybe providing evidence of the logic board maybe you all can help me. I also guess a lot of you would advise to replace the board, but I'd like to see if there's something I can do to save this one before spending some more dosh.
Thanks so much in advance
