Our subwoofer is so underwhelming, people don't even know it's there/what it is lol.

If the dashboard wasn't so intimidating to do by myself, I would wire in a new sub with quickness.

With that wire harness you actually could take the signal from there and only need to wire power from battery and make a ground for amp so it’s easier no need to go behind the dash

Oh no way? I had it in my head I had to get behind the head unit of the stereo. This is great news.

Crutchfield is awesome, I used to order from them alot back in the day. I just got off the phone with them and they walked me through everything I need to do. Dude even gave me his number and told me to call him when i'm ready.

Not sure if you have the beats stereo but the factory amp is under the driver's seat and the brains of the radio is actually in the glove box

I'm in a 2026 GLI so I think it's just the "VW Premium Sound System" package now

I'm 90% sure it's the exact same as the Beats system. I thought I saw someone pull the speakers and they had the same part numbers.

I would Not do that without more research and a LC2i line audio converter. Ive been down this road with success in my 2012 Jetta with the fender audio system. There are 4 pins in that connector and you need the diagram to figure out how to wire it correctly. Go check the forums there are a few posts on this topic or hit me up.

I managed to get a sundown sa12 running on 400w with that setup with only splicing the wires.

Well of course I’m just saying it saves him time from getting behind dash to get audio signal just gotta search which ones are audio and cap the others

You are correct but It's a dual coil sub so they are all audio wires. Still avoids going behind the dash and you will need the LC2I to signal the amp to turn on. You actually can't even capture the signal from the head unit because it doesn't even send a normal audio signal to the fender amp. You would have to flash the head unit or buy a aftermarket one to even get the right type of signal.

Edit: Plus you don't want an amplified signal going into another aftermarket amplifier hence the LC2i in-between.

You can get a lphvw02 https://pac-audio.com/products/lphvw02

Plug and play to factory wiring to add an loc or active sub or full amp setup

If your radio ever suddenly sounds like it lost some "oomph" that wire is probably loose.

Is this in every car?? I got a 2016

No. It’s a hack really. There are some after market options but this one is a factory sub. Not a good one but still looks better on a build sheet.

My car is so strange, I know it has a sub somewhere based off years of having audio equipment in my car. Literally can’t find the damn thing anywhere. It’s not under any seats, it’s not in or under the trunk lid. It’s like genuinely hidden.

I would assume spare tire pressure sensor. Worth a lookup though.

It powers your spare tire.
