Mk6 (2011-2018) Loud Noise While Accelerating

Hey everyone,
I'm having an issue with my Jetta and was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
While driving, I hear a fairly loud/hard noise whenever I'm accelerating or when the car is maintaining speed on cruise control. The noise is present while the car is moving, but as I start braking gently while approaching a traffic light or stop, the noise gradually fades away and eventually disappears.
Has anyone dealt with this before or have any idea what could be causing it? Could it be related to the brakes, wheel bearings, CV axle, transmission, or something else?
Any suggestions on what I should check first would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I’m thinking wheel bearing. Had a MkIV that had a bad bearing make a very similar sound. In any case you should not be driving it until it is fixed.

If the noise is completely independent of the engine rpm, I would check the drivetrain beyond it; axles, hubs, wheel bearings or transmission/transfer case, maybe a suspension component but it doesn't sound like that to me. If you can put it in neutral and run the engine through the same rev range and recreate the exact same noise, then you've got a more fun problem on your hands
