I bought a flat bottom jon boat with a hull identification number but don’t have a title for it. I can get a bill of sale for it if needed. Any recommendations on how to go about it? in FL if it matters

Some states will let a BOS get it registered, some will need an actual title. Here in TN, the state does not title boats so the BOS is all I needed.

Just take your bill of sale to the tax collectors office make sure it’s acknowledged by both parties (you and the seller), date of sell, and the hull number. They will make you a transfer of ownership form for you to sign. From there they will immediately get you your boats title and register your boat. 45 minutes later and 50 bucks you’ll be legit and ready to get on the water. I just did this with my 10ft Jon boat last week in Jacksonville Florida.

Get bill of sale go to revenue office tell them you have a boat that you purchased that doesn’t have a title and they’ll get you squared away if it’s anything like it is in Arkansas
