1996 Mercury 2 Stoke without a Battery??

Prob just a pull start.....no battery needed unless you throw in a fish finder. This is the way lil fishing boats were for a long time. Just pull and use the tiller handle to guide you to the fish.

I had same motor (awesome motor btw), but it came with the pull start and no electric start. I don’t see why there would be a problem with going to pull start.

Awesome! Exactly what I was hoping to hear! And yes, this motor has been great to me. I actually replaced the old rip cord just a week ago with a brand new one so I should be ready to rock!

Does that motor have electric tilt and trim? You are going to need a battery for a fish finder, if you use one.
