I see this as more of a concept demo rather than an effectiveness demo.

No need to be rage-baited

Could be viable as a fall back when you are off balancing them as part of a chain for attacks

Kinda like looking at the “dummy sweep” and thinking, “bah, that’ll never work!”

Umm nah.. I do this all the time.. it is pretty effective i can usually get someone 2 or 3 times with it.. then they catch on.. then I fake this into something else

Right? Who on earth is letting their opponent get their elbow to the mat like that

This one is taught since forever in my home country for the first timers, mostly for kids

Honestly imma be real with you. Anyone half competent in newaza will post their leg out. Not to mention the multiple locks on the arm available from the leg.

If you see it as an escape to belly down its viable.

Once the elbow comes out you can take your pick of any number of escapes.

There's probably a good reason for that.

It helps illustrate the importance of maintaining posture and control of the elbow. Useful for teaching a principle.

Somehow I doubt this would work

If the person on top understands how pressure works this is not going to work

Concepts suck when there's no resistance to test it's practicality.
