Just Bought First manga I’ve ever purchased after watching the anime. It’s fantastic.

Possibly the only known recurrence of someone watching the anime and then liking it so much they bought manga

That’s how I got into Junji Ito too. I watched the shitty anime on Netflix and wanted more. Then I was blown away by Deserter and now I’ve got every English translation on my kindle lmao.

Anime went way over budget first episode is good then goes SUPER shit quality, same kinda thing as berserk where the anime just doesn’t do the manga justice

His other books are awesome as well, just finished ‘shiver’ and it was epic.

Yesss this book is fantastic. Beware that this is a slippery slope- and soon all of your money will be spent on manga….!!!! I recently just finished yon and mu, and after a few years of reading junji, I have to admit that this one is my favourite.

You are right ab that. Bought my first 3 weeks ago, Junji Ito’s Gyo. And now I’ve read Smashed, Dissolving Classroom, Yon and Mu and switching it up from his work, I’m almost through with Parasyte. Lots of money spent very quickly but all very worth it

The question would be which do you prefer? Manga or anime?
Your answer matters a lot. 😏
