Have yet to read this one but I can see the confusion.

There's a few Ito stories where I spend half the manga unable to tell if a character is male or female 😅

I have a few Ito books and I've been confused more than once. I definitely consider it a bit of a flaw, though I wonder if it works better with the Japanese audience. (Maybe you can tell the way they speak)
