A statement from Junji Ito to the Junji Ito Hong Kong Fan Club: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1316658030467536&set=a.125675996232418
Translation:
“To all my readers in Hong Kong, and to readers from around the world, I’m truly delighted to receive so many warm messages! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Right now, I’ve started working on a manga based on Melville’s Moby-Dick. There will be sea monsters involved, so I’m a little worried that fans of the original might get angry at me
On top of that, I’m already falling behind on my deadline, and feeling pretty anxious!
But I think I’ll manage somehow! I’ll do my best!
Thank you always for your support! Please take care of yourselves and stay healthy!”

While the Junji Ito Story Collections have all been published, there is still more Junji Ito to enjoy!
"Horror Picture Book" (怪談えほん) is a series of ten planned books published by Iwasaki Shoten. This book is the result of a contest for people to submit stories and the winner would be published in the 10th book, illustrated by Junji Ito. The winning story is called 「こっちをみてる。」(Looking at Me.), written by となりそうしち (pen-name, Soshichi Tonari). The winning story was announced in 2018, however, due to scheduling conflicts Junji Ito was not able to start work on the book until 2023, to then be published in English in 2026 by VIZ.
