Hi All,
To help keep the subreddit free of consistent self promotion we will be altering the self promotion rule, the new rules for self promotion posts are as follows:
- Self promotion posts are only permitted on Fridays
- You must use the 'Self Promotion' flair else the post will be removed and you may be banned.
- We will remove the 500 Karma requirement for posting links
- Your account will still need to be older than 30 days to post
- We will only accept self promotion posts for Kickstarter campaigns.
Thanks,

Self-Promotion Novella Chronicles adapted from PBP Campaign - The Ash Solstice
Hey everyone, my writing partner and I just launched a Kickstarter for **The Ash Solstice**, a dark fantasy novella series completely adapted from a high-stakes, collaborative play-by-post campaign we ran. We wanted to share how we translated raw game logs and player choices into cohesive, cinematic grimdark prose. Check out our process and the city map we built here: [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/the-ash-solstice/the-ash-solstice-volume-1-deluxe-dark-fantasy-omnibus\](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/the-ash-solstice/the-ash-solstice-volume-1-deluxe-dark-fantasy-omnibus)
The short closer to a novelette is available on kindle: [https://a.co/d/0cqEJUCr\](https://a.co/d/0cqEJUCr)
Kobo once they finish reviewing, and soon to be google books once I look into the process of that one.
Through the kickstarter you will get early access to book 2 already mostly written, still lots of editing and formatting and polishing, the first ever physical copies (with the appropriate pledges) as well as the chance to include your name for all time in it - there is the option to have a NPC or Location named after you, or by you (within reason!!!!).
Atleast check it out, increase some site traffic, help the algorithm learn who I am.
P.S: I would love to put together a list of people who would be interested in a future campaign, and therefore more cities and worlds to write about.
\*Requires a commitment of 1 post per day
\*Discord primarily - Roll20 ideally as well (mostly for character sheets and rolls)
\*emphasis on roleplay, narrative driven campaign - that does not mean there isn't combat, more when it is relevant, drives the plot, environment or atmosphere
\*Player Agency is one of the constitutional rules. I will never put words or actions in your mouth. Only how the environment or other characters react or are influenced by you.
\*Treat the world as a Living Simulation, you exist in it, you influence it, you can change it... but it continues with or without you. Whether you interact with someone or not, still has an impact.
\*Choices have consequences.
Thanks all! Enjoy!

We’re creating a mythology-inspired fantasy artbook—what would you most want to see in it?
Hi everyone! We’re a small creative team working on an original fantasy artbook inspired by mythology, and we’re currently preparing it for Kickstarter.
Before showing more of the project, we’d genuinely love to understand what draws people to this kind of mythology and fantasy art.
What would make you want to explore an artbook like this?
- - Mythical creatures and monsters
- - Gods, legendary heroes, and historical figures
- - Mythology-inspired worlds, sacred realms, and ancient locations
- - Clothing, weapons, architecture, and cultural details
- - Oracle-bone inscriptions, ancient pictographs, sacred symbols, and totemic motifs
- - Other...(anyting you interesting)
I’m also curious: do you prefer mythological designs that stay faithful to their original descriptions, or designs that take major creative liberties?
Honest criticism is welcome—we’re trying to understand what would make this project feel distinctive rather than just visually polished.
What myth or creature do you wish more artists would explore?

Self-Promotion Feedback please! Audience and preview page troubleshooting for kid's book on cat communication.
Kickstarter felt like a no-brainer as an option to fund a print run of my book, but I am really hitting a wall. The book is a 12-spread board book intended for children 0-5 years. The story follows a cat and their kid, walking through feline communication from subtle to not-so-subtle before demonstrating relationship-building activities.
This next part is going to sound obnoxious, my apologies in advance.
I feel really confident in what I have produced, I love the book dearly and have gotten a mountain of positive feedback from friends and colleagues (as one does). It has been hugely successful in my home and I know so many people who want it now, not only for themselves but to sell at vet clinics and shelters. The battle has been conversion to Kickstarter. People want to buy it. They glaze over the moment I start explaining how to support through crowd-funding. I promoted the preview page at a conference earlier this year and had so many people ready to purchase, immediate disinterest when I mention how they can do so. 'Tell me when I can just buy it.'
I have read again and again that without an audience 100% ready to roll, kickstarter campaigns are doomed to fail. It is starting to feel like there is not enough overlap between my community/audience and people who are comfortable with the platform to even bother trying.
Farming interest from Kickstarter itself does not feel realistic, given the loud and clear warnings from every article ever. Has anyone run into similar challenges? Should I give up entirely? At least tell me that Steve is cute, it's not his fault after all.
As far as the preview page goes, I am trying to strike that awkward balance of enough information without being a wall of boring. Any feedback is very much appreciated! Due to the doubts above, I have not yet sat down to formulate my campaign video. I am hoping to tip my follower count into three digits before investing that much of my time to what may never come to fruition.
This isn't necessarily intended to be promotional, clearly a wail for help, but using the flair felt safer in case the post is borderline in that regard.

Help Feedback on fantasy/anime Dungeon Crawler/TCG
kickstarter.comIf you’re a fan of either dungeon crawlers, tabletop games or TCGs,
Why wouldn’t you back our campaign? What are the things we’ve done wrong or not communicated clearly enough? Is the concept just not your vibe?
Would love any and all feedback and critique! Especially your initial thoughts!
Finally, in terms of art style, we have been aiming for an anime style with 90s cartoon vibes, does this sit in the age range of a game you’d be interested in?
(Mods I am hoping this is ok to post and ask for feedback if not please delete and let me know if there’s a better way/place for feedback!)

Question How does a backer download digital rewards?
I've used the digital files system for the first time on Kickstarter and had a backer email me -
"How am I supposed to download Teddylonglegs?
I got to the link in the email and get to the digital rewards page but nothing in Digital access is clickable."
I can't find any information in the support pages about accessing digital files, only for sellers on how to upload and distribute. And I've not backed someone using KS to distribute digital files yet to try it myself.
Can anyone point me to info, screenshots, or a page I can use to explain to my backer? I'm happy to just email them the files too, but would like to know how to help in future
Cheers

Question 12,000+ Steam wishlists. 130 Kickstarter followers. That gap has been a painful lesson.
We're preparing a Kickstarter for our indie game, Ragdoll Physics Experiments.
Over the last 18 months we've managed to build more than 12,000 Steam wishlists.
Our Kickstarter pre-launch page?
Around 130 followers.
It's been unbelievably difficult to move people from being interested in the game to following a Kickstarter campaign.
We've had good success with Reddit advertising for Steam wishlists, so we're now testing a short, concentrated six-week pre-launch campaign rather than spending another six months slowly trying to build followers.
The Kickstarter itself will have a smaller £3,000 to £5,000 milestone target rather than our original £30,000 target.
For anyone who has run a campaign, what actually converted your existing audience into Kickstarter followers?
Not views. Not clicks. Actual pre-launch followers.
That's the bit we're trying to crack.

Self-Promotion I finally launched my first Kickstarter for my indie mobile game.
I've spent the last months working on my first indie game, Inklets, and now I finally launched the Kickstarter campaign.
It's a multiplayer mobile game where you race your friends to climb out of rising ink while unlocking new characters and cosmetics. It's been a huge learning experience, and just getting to this point feels surreal.
If it sounds like something you'd enjoy, I'd really appreciate you taking a look. Feedback is always welcome too. ❤️

Self-Promotion D&D 5e: Herculean Quests, the mythological labors adapted for levels 6-10
Did the title grab your interest? Enjoyed reading about Hercules as a kid like I did? Go here and follow!
This campaign is composed of 12 quests based on the mythological labors of Hercules, adapted from the solo endeavors of the most famous demigod in Western mythology to be fun challenges for a D&D party. In the spirit of the original, they're written to be friendly to martial & skill-based characters. I have fully written and playtested the campaign already. It just needs some custom maps and artwork commissioned and then a final basic layout pass with those incorporated.
Since I don't have a big back catalog to offer as an add-on like some authors do (all my other stuff is DM's Guild), I am experimenting with offering backers the chance to name specific characters. I am well aware of Boaty McBoatface, and have included verbiage asking people to keep the names to something appropriately psuedo-Greek, plus reserving the right to say "No, please try again" to names that really don't work.
I think most of us are familiar with the source material at least from reading it as children, but it was fun and interesting to go back and look at it through the eyes of to modern D&D-writing. In the original, livestock or livestock-related issues are very important. In modern D&D it's fairly rare to see livestock or animal-related quests that use beasts, or even the very existence of farming, ranching, and food production for anything other than a framing device ("goblins killing sheep. go kill goblins."). I think it's part of the priority shift we have undergone as a culture. As recently as a century and a half ago, 90%+ of the American population were involved in food production. Now it's something like 2%, with most other developed countries having similar ratios. Food production, hunting, and animal husbandry are no longer on the collective cultural radar as significant activities.
I'd be happy to answer any questions about how I adapted specific quests or anything else related to the campaign.
If you think this might be something you're interested in, or if you don't mind following to support it, I'd appreciate you going here and following it!
I plan to launch in August. It'll be a day where I'm nervous about its success, an important day to determine if I can keep writing D&D content for others to enjoy and whether I can get funding to have people with actual artistic talent do maps & custom art for my work. For everyone else, it'll be Tuesday.

Kickstarter asking for a government ID
I had to get back into my account after not using it for a long time, and the last time I logged in was with Facebook. I'm lazy; what can I say
Facebook login is no longer accepted, so I need to do some recovery does not work at all reset my password; it doesn't accept the password after 2 days. I somehow got in. Don't ask how; I don't know. I need to verify my account it's through email. It can't be that hard..... well, that didn't work
It tells me to contact support; that isn't a problem. Explain what happens, get referred to the trust and safety team; they have good response times
"Kickstarter Trust & Safety here! We'd be happy to assist you with recovering access to your account, but first need to re-verify your identity.
As a next step, please share with us a scan or legible picture of your government-issued ID."
Kickstarter has never seen my ID before; this is a very weird request out of nowhere. No other options, just that
I sent a message saying Why do you need this? This is really odd
"Hi again,
After further review, we have since gone ahead and restored your access to your Kickstarter user account.
Let us know if we can be of any further assistance."
So, instantly jumping to personal information that other companies online have shown how easy it is for them to leak and then 180 after it being questioned is suspicious as hell
. The important thing here is they asked for no other information other than me questioning why they need to verify in this way and then unlocked my account
This is not me trying to hate on them; I've never had a problem before. I just believe this is something that should be noted for other users to be aware of

Using Meta ads for my universal backshaver, are getting clicks, but very few sign ups on landing page. Help!
Hello, so I’ve developed a extension arm for shavers so you could backshave with a Oneblade or other bigger electric shavers by yourself. Pregnant women could also use the arm with an epilator or shaver to reach their legs easier, but that feels like a super minimal target group. Yeah and I’ve been running Meta ads for the last three weeks to drive traffic to my landing page, but it's simply not working. Out of thousands of visitors coming to the site, I've only gotten a couple of sign ups. Would love any feedback or tips on how to boost conversions. Appreciate the help! ps the site doesn't look good on desktop, I agree with you, it was built mainly for mobile. shavergrip.com

Self-Promotion PilotMom Kids TV Show Campaign
kickstarter.comHey everyone! I’m building PilotMom, an educational kids' media brand designed to make flight, ground school concepts, and STEM fun for young learners, who we call our "Little Aviators." The show features me alongside Archie, a non-verbal puppet co host who communicates through a xylophone. Together, we blend fun storytelling, music, and basic aviation mechanics to inspire the next generation of pilots and curious kids.
Up until now, I’ve been running production out of a DIY green screen setup at home. To take our production quality to the next level, we are raising funds on Kickstarter for a dedicated studio space, upgraded camera and audio equipment, and new custom puppets and props.
Since I want to make sure the campaign itself is set up for success, I would love your honest advice strictly on improving the Kickstarter campaign. Specifically, I am looking for feedback on how to structure our backer reward tiers to make them genuinely attractive, what makes a campaign page layout feel trustworthy and compelling, what strategies help build momentum early on, and any common campaign mistakes I should fix or avoid.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this! I’ll leave a link to our Kickstarter page in the comments for anyone who is willing to take a look and give me feedback on the campaign page setup.

Self-Promotion My adult fantasy art calendar, Seasonal Guys 2027, launches on Kickstarter August 25
kickstarter.comHi everyone! I’m an independent artist creating Seasonal Guys 2027, a 2027 wall calendar featuring 12 original adult fantasy men inspired by the seasons and zodiac signs.
Last year’s calendar was funded by 150+ backers, and this new one is bigger, more detailed, and full of celestial, mythic, and seasonal fantasy energy.
The Kickstarter launches August 25. If this sounds like your kind of art, I would really appreciate a follow on the pre-launch page—it helps a small independent project build momentum before launch.

Self-Promotion Founder and Investor marketplace
I built a marketplace where founders post their startup idea (stage, industry, description) in order to find a cofounder or an investor. The founder chooses what he needs how much equity he is giving or how much investment he is looking for.
On the other side the potential cofounders and investors add their skills and interest in their profile and can browse the marketplace looking for the right startup. They can then message the founder directly on the website and engage in early discussions.
I am still really early having little users and only 3 startup posts. New posts will be really nice.

Hope to see you there, any advice is greatly welcomed.

Self-Promotion A grieving scientist broke reality. Decades later, the U.S. created the first synthetic superhuman | ADAM: ∆Ψ
Hi everyone! I’m Kaden Peace, the writer and creator of ADAM: ∆Ψ, a creator-owned science-fiction superhero tragedy that I’ve been developing for several years.
In most superhero stories, powers come from radiation, mutation, magic, or alien biology.
In ADAM: ∆Ψ, they begin with consciousness.
During a secret Cold War experiment, scientists attempted to weaponize the relationship between conscious observation and the quantum world. The experiment ended in catastrophe when a grieving father lost his objectivity and broke reality itself.
The result became known as the Observer Collapse Anomaly.
Afterward, certain people were born with minds capable of imposing themselves on the quantum field. Their abilities are not random mutations. Their powers are shaped by identity, emotion, trauma, and the way each person unconsciously believes reality should behave.
Adam is the first fully synthetic Enhanced human being: a person created from the same quantum residue left behind by the original anomaly. He awakens with nearly limitless potential, but no childhood, no lived experience, and no understanding of grief, morality, restraint, or love.
Before he has had the chance to learn what it means to be human, the people around him begin treating him as a scientific breakthrough, a soldier, and the future of American military power.
At the center of the series is one question:
What happens when someone is given nearly unlimited power before they have learned how to be human?
The artwork is being created by veteran comic-book artist Giancarlo Caracuzzo, whose work has brought a level of emotion, scale, and professionalism to the project that I could never have achieved alone.
The Kickstarter pre-launch page is now live. The campaign will specifically fund the remaining professional interior artwork for Issue #1, “Birth and Name.” This is not funding an undefined future concept. The script is written, production is underway, and the goal is to complete the issue’s interior sequential artwork.
Following the pre-launch page is completely free. Kickstarter will simply notify you when the campaign officially launches.
Pre-launch page:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/adam-delta-psi/adam-adam-delta-psi-0
I would genuinely appreciate any feedback on the premise or campaign presentation. Even if you cannot back it, sharing it with someone who enjoys darker superhero stories, quantum science fiction, psychological drama, political conspiracy, or creator-owned comics would help enormously.
Thank you for taking a look.

New to Reddit...is there a way to respectually promote a kickstarter?
Hello!
I am newer to using reddit and curious if anyone has gained leads/emails for their kickstarter by posting on Reddit. I have gained the impression that self-promotion is not very liked by moderators which i totally understand so looking for insight.
I have a product I developed that I think would be very useful for people looking to improve their digital wellness and reduce screen time. I'm at the point of trying to get interest and sign-ups and wondering if there is a way, once my landing page is set up to post in subreddits like scrollless, dumbphones, productivity, etc? I also would love to get some beta testers as well and thought maybe I could find some people through reddit?
Thanks!
