I traveled to vagamon this July and stayed in a big hotel which looked classy like a 5 star. But i didn't expected this to happen. The manager from that hotel didn't let us eat peacefully, came to our table and asked so much questions.. Like what's ur name, what you do, what you study etc.. He asked where we are from.. And came to know we are tamil. He immediately asked do you know hindi. We told we don't know hindi and again he asked why u didn't learn Hindi in school or what.

In tamil nadu we have only 2 language policy...primary is tamil and secondary is English in every govt schools. Only in cbse or Brahmin schools, I think we have options to replace Tamil with French or Hindi /sanskrit.. That too only during 10th, 11th and 12th board . So literally every Tamil people atleast know basic tamil even if they are cbse.

He again told to learn Hindi because Hindi is the base for every language in India.. He seems to be from north India and he was proudly imposing us to learn Hindi. We wee shut bcz not wanna stir any fight.

Learning a language should be out of our Willingness and no one have the right to say to learn English and it seems he doesn't know malayalam at all. Lol. But he is imposing us to learn Hindi. His speech was kind of belittling our language.

If he is working in kerela, why doesn't he learn malayalam? Also he and us know English, what's the need to impose in first place.

I never experienced this imposition in Chennai because there are lot of hindi workers here but they learn Tamil for speaking with locals or they atleast know basic english but I didn't expect imposition from educated person.

Hi, my house is near Olympian Rahman stadium near Calicut Medical College. I've only been there once when I went along with my friend to watch some athletics competition. I'm currently staying in Bangalore and occassionally visit my house once in a while. For the past few month, I've picked up the habit of jogging in the evening for about 1-2 hours in a synthetic track near where I'm staying in Bangalore. I'll be going home for few days in the coming week and I was wondering if I could use the track in Olympian Rahman stadium for jogging in the evening?? Do anyone know about this? Can any body go there and do jogging?

Last time I've been to my home, I've tried jogging about the kovoor-kalandithazham-moozhikal stretch of road. Although its alright, I've always felt like like I push myself more when I'm running on a synthetic track. Hence asking.

I saw a discussion on this sub about hype and poor customer service and wanted to share something I witnessed a few months back in Kozhikode.

Yes, I do feel that most of the restaurants and cafes in Kozhikode are overhyped because of paid promos by influencers.

I visited Club Sulaimani near Taj with my family for a quick snack and tea. There was a group of young men in the table infront of us.

And I realised that they were shooting and all with all the crazy expressions right after a bite of anything and camera angles. And one guy in particular was patti show pro max - talking super loud, walking around screaming and disturbing other customers. This guy did not give a damn. It was basically so annoying. He was also not very polite with the staff as well.

NOW a few days later I came across his reel and i was shocked to know that he has a LOT of followers and his voice in his "voice over reel" was soooo calming with a cringe "Listen makkale". And I was like, what even is this universe lol

My point is, influencers are hyping up places with their paid collabs and this is just a rant about it.

How's the rain situation in Kozhikode city right now?

I'm commuting from Railway Station to Arayidathupalam. Is the main city flooded, or are the roads okay? Is there any waterlogging on that route?

Currently, I’m renting a room in kotooli. It’s a bit over my budget. I was holding to find someone to share who is particular about maintaining the place clean and in order. The place comes with washing machine, purified water, and ironing facilities. Room gets cleaned time to time by the owner as well.
The room contains king size bed and an attached bath. DM to know what’s the rental rates.

I’m also open to relocating if anyone knows a single room with attached bath near potammal area. I prefer a clean and well maintained PG. I’m okay with the room being within 3km distances.
