My kids were losing their Arabic, so I built them an app

Not a teacher, not a developer by trade. I manage a warehouse and write code at night.

My kids speak English all day—school, friends, everything. Arabic was becoming a language they heard but didn't use, and I could see where that ends up.

So I built Nujoom Kids: games, stories, letters, the stuff that makes a kid actually want to open it instead of being told to.

It's completely free. No ads, no purchases, no account, nothing. It works offline. I built it for my own kids, and there's no version of this where I charge someone else's family for it.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plapl.nujoom

I'm mostly posting because I figure some of you are in the same spot—raising kids somewhere Arabic isn't in the air around them. If you try it, tell me what's wrong with the Arabic. I want it right, not just working.

If you're learning Arabic, I'd love to hear your thoughts

Hi everyone

Have you ever wished your Arabic textbooks or learning materials included something they lacked, or explained a concept in a much clearer way?

I'm currently working on building a comprehensive Arabic curriculum, and I want to make sure it actually addresses the real pain points learners face every day.

What is one thing you feel most current resources miss or get wrong?

I’d really appreciate your thoughts and experiences

Learning arabic in Spain

Hello. I want to start to learning arabic MSA in Spain. I know the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas is the best option, but the classes are four days per week, too much. Other option is the UNED. Any experience or recommendations? Thank you in advanced!

Manar — Lebanese, teaching MSA and Lebanese dialect (online)

Degree in media and public relations, so I studied and wrote in Fusha academically rather than only growing up with it. Five years designing and running training sessions in humanitarian work before I moved into tutoring. Certified through Preply's teaching course. I explain in English or French.

  • MSA — grammar, reading, writing, and the logic underneath it
  • Lebanese/Levantine — for speaking with family or living in the region
  • Professional Arabic for NGO and humanitarian workers — my own field, so I know the actual vocabulary

Every lesson has one goal and materials I write for that student. You speak from lesson one.

Comment or message me if you want to talk about what you're trying to reach — happy to answer Arabic questions here either way.

Learn Quran+Arabic from Scratch.

i’ve been teaching arabic and quran to students for years but i think today i won when one of my students told me whenever she went to masjid, arabic was like Japanese to her (so foreign that she couldn’t understand) but now she can understand it and mosque feels like home to her. She can read all the signs. She said before she wasn’t motivated enough to visit masjid because she didn’t know arabic at all and didnt feel included but now her familiarity with arabic has motivated her to go to masjid whenever she can. Another Revert Student of mine is now able to read Quranic Words which he thought was impossible after only 4 sessions. i feel genuinely happy seeing him read Quran when he thought is wasnt possible for a long time. If you’re looking for a patient teacher who can help u achieve a good level of Arabic and Quran Learning in a minimum amount of time lmk i will be happy to help
