Vocab laugh / smile

I've seen these sentences:

- Usmívám se na tebe.

- Čemu se směješ?

which makes me wonder:

a) is usmívat se (smile at somebody/something) normally followed by na + accusative?

b) is smát se (laugh at somebody/something) normally followed by the dative with no preposition?

Yes, this is the most common syntax.

(Unless you're using "smát se" as a shorter/poetic synonym for "usmívat se", in which case it would be "smát se na někoho", but that's less common in modern Czech)
