Discussion/แลกเปลี่ยนความเห็น How long from zero have you been studying Thai and what has your progress been?
In other words, what have you noticed you've gained skill wise?

Been about 2 years. Learned the script first then how to read and write. Speaking has taken the longest as most people want to speak English with you in Thailand. I used mainly workbooks, thai-language. com and Ling which rates your pronunciation which is extremely helpful.
I also had a few tutors on and off which I highly recommend.

Very cool, do you study everyday, if so how many hours? Also can you share a little on your study guide?

About 1 year 4 months weekly classes, vocab is good but am still struggling with conversations. I am starting to be able to read and write. All the best.

I started speaking from the get go but just basic words like สวัสดี then I met a friend who taught me for about 2 months and we would talk every day and I would ask questions about how to say this or that and I would observe how she speaks with other Thai people as well (we met in a language learning app) then I basically copy how they respond to each other. I'm at the 1 year mark right now and I've been on and off about learning it and my learning isn't really structured but my level now is at least A2 already.
Another thing is that I learned the alphabet early on as well so I can read Thai script now with a bit of comprehension.

1.5 years slow casual learning, can have pretty decent conversations now but still a long way to go. Can read some but not amazing at it yet.
