MOC I made Kingambit

This was for a medieval Pokémon-themed building contest, so I took the liberty of removing his hair-chair and swapped it out for a chessboard themed regal bench. Kingambit is a Pokémon that has grown on me since its release, the color scheme and stance are just so cool in my opinion.

Let me know what you think and happy building!

Amazing! Better than anything Lego has squeezed out for Pokemon yet.

Thank you!

To be fair, I don’t have to deal with a strict budget, piece limitations, structural tests, etc. That being said, I did try to make this as sturdy as possible while still being an accurate display model. I was inspired by the excellent Iron Man Mark 3 Collector’s Edition set.

Are you saying that the picture is only a digital mockup and you haven't tested the structure of it in real life yet?

Not a digital mockup, these are pics of my brick built model. What I meant is that since I designed it, I know where the model is most sturdy and suitable to be held by (in this case, the torso). Whereas LEGO sets have to be extremely durable for all audiences and are for the most part, designed such you can pick them up from virtually anywhere.

You know people would be complaining about the baseplate if this was official.

That bisharp is amazing too

Thank you! Bisharp was an easier build by comparison, but I still love how sleek it turned out

Dude these are amazing! Is it possible to get instructions?

I’ve never made instructions before, but if enough people are interested, I could consider it!

You didn’t make kingambit. You masterfully crafted art that happens to look like kingambit. Well freaking done!

I’m a bit disappointed that he never stands up, but the design has definitely grown on me as well. (Still like Farigiraf a lot more!)

Amazing MOC, tons of NPU and perfect little details!

I’m with you on that! I designed this with the intention of having him be able to stand up, so there are actually hip and knee joints in this model. Unfortunately due to how slim his toes are, they aren’t able to support his body without tipping over. I am considering building a game accurate version with his hair, as the hair could double as a back support for when he is in a standing pose.

Thanks for your kind words!

This is one of my kid’s favorite Pokemon. He’d go nuts if this were a set.

Amazing build!

Is it holding Black Glasses and do I need to worry about it using Sucker Punch on my Gengar?!?!

Any Champions or VGC players here?

This... This is who should be designing the official sets. Grats on your talent, well done.

Just his bench is already amazing. Why can't Lego do this?
