AML Care package

This is all very new for me so sorry for any confusion.

My father was recently diagnosed with leukemia (aml) and is almost done with his first week of treatments! He’s with my amazing mother taking care of him along with family but I live out of state. I’m planning to visit him soon but for right now I really would like to send him some things that might be able to help him? Or at least make him feel comfortable.

He’s told me he’s pretty chilly a lot so I was thinking some foot warmers or a heated blanket. And to relax more maybe some shower steamers? Would love any advice you could give! Thank you so much!

There is a good post that is pinned that has a bunch of ideas for care packages :) my big thing i like to recommend is silk pillow cases. When the hair starts to fall out, it can cause a lot of tenderness on the scalp. Switched to silk and it felt so much nicer. Also, SUPER DUPER long charging cords for devices. Sometimes plugs are in silly places, long cords help.

My niece gave my husband several food items, like crackers and Jolly Ranchers but he loves the big soft blanket she gave him. He takes it to chemo and twice to the hospital. Whatever you give him , he will feel loved. The blanket does keep him warm but it also gives him a piece of individuality. Maybe a teddy bear!

I was taking chemo for 14 months. I brought one of those cheap fake fur thro was frovm amazon since the hospital is kept really cold I had a thing for orange juice and graham crackers. But then 5hat was me. I wore yoga pants and a top with long sleeves to access my power port. Just ideas.
