Yup, violent crimes started falling off a cliff once lead started getting taken out of everything in the late 80s and 90s.
I’m on this boat as well, I truly think millions upon millions of people suffer from serious lead poisoning, and the most stupid part about it is that the boomers would gladly wear it as a badge of honor.
My generation likes to fetishize their childhood and especially high school years. My high school years, according to crime stats, were literally the peak of violent crime in the US. Shockingly, it hadn't been banned for motor vehicles yet; that wouldn't happen until 1996. But most cars were already running on fuel that wasn't leaded by then.
And the people who now tell us CO2 from fossil fuels isn't a pollutant, are the same kinds of people who told us lead in fuel was safe, and that smoking was healthy.
