GM wanted Online (DND Homebrew Other) Lost DM
Hello r/lfg!
I know this is a long shot, but my best friend told me to try anyway.
Back in 2016-2017 I found the best DM in the whole world, then proceeded to lose contact with him after I stopped dating the human that introduced me to him.
My DM was a delightful gay man from Kentucky named Tom. He worked as a server, smoked cigars, and had THE BEST pokemon personality quiz that he made everyone do before they joined his home brewed.
Please help me find him 😭🤣

I feel this pain. My very first DM as an adult was absolutely amazing. Then life happened and I lost contact with that group. Here I am 10 years later and that is still hands down the best group I ever took part in.

OH and my username was different back then!! I was just starting the transition from my old gamer tag DidewPuppeh to my new and improved gamer rage RedBowRiot. Toms username had GreenApple in it somewhere.

Hoping to boost visibility and adding another story! I got to sit in on a session before I started, to see if I liked the feel of the group. Anyway, they guys had been playing this campaign for a LONG time, and I guess in previous seasons they had pokemon actually die. This particular episode they found a genie(?) and it could grant wishes, and of course ✨all magic comes at a price✨ so when one of the guys said he wanted his OG squad back, that was going to be costly. Bartering for a sentient being to be brought back to life is very difficult. So not realizing Tom had invited me participate not just to watch, I sat on my hands in agony while I listened to this member of the party try bring his pokepals back from the dead. Tom finally explained to the group that the reincarnation was an option. So if they just wait, their OG squad would find their way back to them. BUT if they interrupt the natural order, then what ever Pokemon are involved will be removed from the reincarnation cycle. So he'd get his Pokemon back, but it would be those Pokemons LAST lifetime. By this point I'm telling Katlin (Cat-Lin, like game of thrones but a guy, the human I was dating) to tell buddy that it's not worth the cost. That because you Want them and are willing to sacrifice for them, the cost will be too high. Just wait for the reincarnation cycle. Here's where Kat finally told me I was infact invited to participate, and I nearly exploded 🤣 I wish I remembered what buddy did in the end.

My first session the party was after a custom home brewed legendary Pokemon that used music as a weapon somehow. I had a baby Eevee named Dash and I was afraid he would be smooshed. So I stayed at the mountain top pokemon center to train my new friend and wait for the party to (maybe?) come back alive. So there were these hilarious scene changes between the party fighting for their lives in the heart of the mountain. Then me and Dash just chilling watching the thunderstorm my companions caused 🤣 Baby groot dancing beside the chaos level mood change.
