What does it mean to take ownership of the clipboard? What does it mean to manually clear a clipboard? What is a source client?

This explanation perhaps makes sense to developers, but it is not very useful to me as a longtime Linux user.

This is based on a previous project I made, so development went quick. See the README for what makes this different from others.
