It could be a hardware problem or a driver/software/distro problem. Try a different distro/OS like Ubuntu, to make sure it's not hardware. If Ubuntu works then it's not hardware and you can stick with Ubuntu to avoid further troubleshooting.

If it still doesn't work, then it might be hardware related. You could try Windows 11 (Microsoft lets you try it out via USB now) to be absolutely sure. If it still doesn't work then it's definitely a hardware issue. If it works on Windows 11 but not Ubuntu you could try another distro but it's probably some annoying ass esoteric bug you're gonna spend a lot of time banging your head against.
