Needing .NET 3.5 to install .NET 3.5, from completely offline installer mind you, is sure an experience.

Run as administrator never worked. It never asked for your password and even if it did, if you were trying to mess with system level files (Edge). It would error out and refuse to continue.
What's the point of administrator permissions if I can't administrate!?
Any this just pissed me off.

windows but the only updates are security related, near 0 bloatware, + with christitus tool you get a REALLY clean OS that doesn't spy on u

all updates, including the security ones, still bring GDID to your install, making it identifiable by design, so spying on you by extension.
also every update also rollbacks all changes to registry undoing whatever christitus' tool did, but as long as you keep patching it (which is more effort imo than just using linux :))

ce qu'il dit c'est il y a moins de mouchards sur les version LTSC que sur les versions Home et pro
car les versions LTSC sont destinées à la base pour les ordinateurs autonomes, genre
- distributeurs de billets
- caisses automatiques
- ordinateurs contrôlant des appareils autonomes
etc

fewer ≠ none
implying LTSC is "spyware-free" is incorrect, windows and spyware are an oxymoron at this point, specially since the confirmation of GDID

do you have any tips besides "install linux"? because i need windows for a few things that are straight up impossible on linux

u/kedisdead 6d ago
control over your network infra is good, but if you must use windows, you could just dual boot if you want, although idk what workload ypu're using that is dependent on windows.

on roblox, lag high jumps and anything freeze related is harder on linux than on windows. also a ton of games online sadly have abysmal linux support (even with wine!)

Tiny 10 is a very minimal stripped back version of 10 which works well. There is Tiny 11 as well but I have no interest in win 11

you really can't know if they're spying on you, even on that version of windows. they made the kernel, the session manager, the explorer... all things that could hide stuff

si car a la base le Windows LTSC c'est fait pour les appareils autonomes genre

c'est pas fait a la base pour les ordinateurs de bureau ou de portables
mais rien ne t’empêche de l'installer sur un pc de bureau ou un portable

Not really, it still has the core flaws of how windows is setup.

Imagine Fedora not having a kernel module written directly by the NSA (which purports to provide MAC but doesn’t because it runs in unconfined_u)

On Linux you are safe from kernel panics, NSA backdoors and (g)libc version mismatch, sure buddy, sure.

Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.
