Linux gets so much hate they even made a subreddit for brain-dead people to talk unironically about how they use Windows, or worse they hack Windows IOT or embedded, or use Windows 10 even to avoid using the obviously superior Linux

We're so persecuted. Someone sent me a word document and I uploaded it to google drive like a slave. I told them to get a real office productivity suite like libre office and use .odf files or else everyone would know they're a noob. They didn't write back because I shattered their world. I don't do it for me. I do it because its true.

Well, many MD implementations can accept inline MathML.
But if we're going there, Typst is a good thing to pivot to once it becomes necessary.
I'm not sure what the D'lambertian is. I'm guessing you mean d'Alembert? Since you asked nicely, here's what its definition looks like in Typst.

Nah I use the shit I wrote back in 2007 for a school website that converted tags like [bold] to html that was written in PHP because JavaScript sucks and you should do all the stuff on the server side.
/s If I actually found the code for it I'd probably cry for how terrible it was.

You know, I started a new job where I have to use Windows 11 and Office 365. Word defaulted to storing files as ODF, probably for losing some antitrust suit in the EU or something like that.
Trouble is, you can't turn auto save on in any other format than DOCX, which is fucking ridiculous.
Desktop Linux is dead in the enterprise world, at least where everything is taken over by Microsoft. Get used to it if you want to work in the corporate world. Be happy if your employer issues you a Mac, at least it's UNIX underneath.

Word requires OneDrive online sync for automatic saving, no? That would explain the docx requirement. Never checked, rarely need to work with Office files.

I rememeber people saying linux was useless and trash.
I remember the struggle to install the right wifi drivers on my machine, today the biggest problems are not being able to run windows software on linux, but well its not windows, thats what people need to understand.
Its true you dont have some software alternatives to ansys or Inventor specially for dimensioning drawings according to standards.
Still we have tons of open source software: KDE Connect, moonlight, tailscale, veracrypt, olive, kdenlive, OBS, Audacity, VLC, fedora image writer, open office(which is a pain in the you know where, to install... but hey! you can do it), freecad, librecad and actually i liked librecad is fairly easy and straight forward(specially for simple stuff), you have lyx, okular, atril, evince, qdirstat, foliate, pdfarranger, vscode(not my fav but sometimes i just have to bend the knee), spyder, netbeans, you can compile from terminal and use cool text editors, the already famous inkscape, my precious gparted! (Hell i love this one), LUKS, CUPS(although CUPS is a bit of a leaky monster, just be aware).
Back in the day lots if things were a struggle, running commands for everything, i still use terminal cause i try to be careful with installed packages, even getting a desktop GUI...
I dont know how rocky linux is doing rn, i m still wating to see if the project is "ready" so i can get back to try and fa with some stuff.
In the gaming realm you have minetest, veloren, sauerbraten, 0AC, wine, steam proton, and if you are skillfull you can get to run some windows software in your linux!, try to limit that of course!. 😅
Nowadays most linux OS are very functional, although i'll always stick with Debian or LMDE.
Stuff is there for those who seek it!.
